Shining the spotlight bright on newest signing, Brazilian-born Urbandawn with his Hospital debut single, ‘Neon Nights’. Giving a glimpse of the infectious bass lines and euphonic notes that are inevitably on their way from this talented producer.

From a calm opening to a fanfare of musical spirals, ‘Neon Nights’ explores through a range of tempos and melodic sequences to create a track perfectly fitted for festival fantasia. Going hand in hand is rightly titled, B-side ‘Spectrum’. Combining a glimmering succession of chords with swirling synthesized sounds that inspire a vision of light and colour - happily harmonising with the signature Hospital sound.

Urbandawn has previously impressed with his polished production on several Hospital and Med School compilations, as well as releasing a successful string of tracks on Fokuz and Bad Taste Recordings.

With a musical career already spanning across fourteen years it’s fair to say Urbandawn has more than earned his place on the Hospital roster; not to mention his classically trained background and audio engineering training thrown in the mix. ‘Neon Nights’ sets the precedent for the glowing future that’s sure to come for Urbandawn.

To open the release Nu Venture Records welcome back Polish Drum & Bass producer Rafau Etamski. Push For Love is a vocal Liquid Drum & Bass track featuring; emotive strings and harmonic piano chords, expertly composed alongside addictive sentimental male vocals all combined with a deep mellow bass line and flowing drums to finish off this melodic masterpiece.

[B] SND - Foresight:
The second track sees the return of SND, another Artist well known to Nu Venture Records, having just released his Minimal EP Forbidden. Presenting his latest production Foresight he continues in his trademark prominent bass style. Foresight is a emotional Liquid Drum & Bass track consisting of soft piano notes, atmospheric strings and uplifting synth work. United together with soft and soothing female vocals and a deep and warm bass line to complete this monumental release.

Following six studio albums of funk-driven loungecore, Hospital Records’ head honcho London Elektricity embarks on the boldest musical adventure of his 30-year career with his seventh long-player ‘Building Better Worlds’.

It began in a Forest Hill cafe in 2017 where London Elektricity adoringly browsed through a series of Benjamin Beech’s photography of perfectly untouched, derelict buildings and towns in Japan, Taiwan and China. “Many of the images show what has been, what could have been and what will be. The duality of beauty and melancholia within appealed to me immensely.” Each track was married to a photo, to join the sights to sounds from each of his tales of ‘Building Better Worlds.’

Leading the voyage is the orchestral masterpiece ‘Final View From The Rooftops’, that’s been 13 years in the making and is the “most unusual piece of D+B” [he’s] ever made”, featuring the incredible operatic talent of Cydnei B. ‘Build A Better World’ is a smooth drum & bass sonnet with the vocals of Hospital family favourite Emer Dineen. “The beauty of this song lies in its simplicity, but also its duality. I'll leave you to work out what the lyrics are really about… They are some of the darkest lyrics I've come across in years.”

Another special moment is the feature of London Elektricity’s youngest son, The Secretary-General. The talented nine-year-old takes no ‘Time To Think’ as he flawlessly flows through Inja’s lyrics with the ever-vibrant MC following suit, bringing the track full-circle across generations.

London Elektricity is the mastermind behind classic Hospital albums such as ‘Pull The Plug’, ‘Syncopated City’, ‘Are We There Yet?’, and ‘Yikes’. His latest body of work delves into uncharted depths for a very personal and expressive collection of tracks where drum & bass and live instrumentation meet. London Elektricity can be found showcasing this latest chapter with tours in China, Japan, the UK and Europe throughout 2019.

‘Building Better Worlds’ is available as a special limited edition, 36-page lyric-book complete with an in-depth narrative for each track and a 3 x clear vinyl, on sale exclusively from the Hospital Shop.
