After his first appearance on the labels second release with the widely appreciated remix of „Stateunknwn”, Arkajo (Genius of Time / Aniara Recordings) returns with the highly effective five minute break workout „Vamp”. Gothenburg based Tora Vinter brings a sonic journey of two genre defying tracks to BROR06, coming from releases on her own My Sonic Mountain imprint and remix work for Fever Ray (Rabid Records).

Arriving from an impression inspired by female characters of One Thousand and One Nights, Tora starts the EP with the emotive Morgiana, presenting minimalist layers of classy percussions over an eight minute bassline workout together with Veraluz’s impassioned vocals.

Following up the A-side is the lush and evocative Sheherazade, bringing the listener from atmospheric soundscapes through suggestive drum patterns - featuring a spaced out, stepping remix by DJ Lily.

BROR Records and Jens Records proudly present a Gothenburg-strong collaborative effort with BRORX1/JENS009. On the A-side Jens Records mainstay Pontus Björland delivers “Limits” with Love Karlsson on industrialesque vocals. A raw, distorted machine workout with an acid undertone.

BROR Records curator DJ Lily ups the pace with an energetic remix of “Limits”, making the most out of its original dystopian atmospheric elements, presented at a steady 132 bpm.

The B-side holds the undisclosed Gothenburg duo Quackpac with the deadly and stunningly executed late hour excursion “Earthquack”, measuring in an impressive 16 minutes (hint: don’t miss the last minute).

Heading from his own True Rotary Recordings (co-run with Ena Cosovic), Be As One and recently showing appearance twice on BROR Records sub-label Lilies - Joel Alter presents a diverse three track EP on BROR Records with “BROR07” under his techno alias Jor-El.

The A-side holds the highly effective “In Ur Face” with broken percussions. A track with a daring arrangement that half way through imposes dark energy through the moody bass line and a relentless four to the floor kick work.

On the B-side Jor-El brings the emotive “In Ur Mind”, a perfectly crafted atmospheric techno cut followed by the energetic off-kilter outro “Spectrum”- techno stripped to its bare essentials.

Tora Vinter returns to Bror Records on its first anniversary record, presenting two uplifting yet at the same time emotional tracks, including a guest remix appearance by Harald Björk (Kranglan Broadcast/Studio Barnhus).

In Tora’s own words: “Peri-Banu is number three in a series of songs portraying female characters from Thousand and One Nights. Peri-Banu is wise, powerful and beautiful and she is the coolest character in a story full of weak, violent and power hungry men.”

On Kid Kid:
”The kids stole my phone and made a number of recordings that I found. I processed them and included it. For me having kids is about love, joy, worries, fear, soul searching, expansion but most of all fun.“ - On the B-side, Harald Björk features a clubbier “Venus Version” of Kid Kid, described: “When I heard the original track I got a vibe of ”life” and ”birth”. I have a quite new grown interest in astrology and was heavily interested in the Mercury Venus conjunction in the 1st house of cancer while working on the track”

new name for a seasoned explorer. In Romanian, the playful expression means “out of the blue”, “all of a sudden”, indicating the spontaneity of the project and the serendipitous meeting of minds between the producer and the Swedish label."

BROR11 A2 Tam Nisam - Negura (DJ Lily Remode)

Sweden’s BROR returns late October with a various artist package entitled ‘Coven’ featuring Tora Vinter, Dorisburg, label founder DJ Lily and Tam Nisam.

Everyone involved in the project has been invited to interpret the phenomenon of witchcraft in the present time, this includes art designer Ingrid Arnsand Jonsson aka Sailor Juul who’s now running the record label together with DJ Lily. The vinyl release will fall in conjunction with Halloween weekend.

coven /ˈkʌv(ə)n/ noun : a group or meeting of witches.

Up first on the release is Tora Vinter’s ‘Devour’, a hazy techno cut driven by pulsating bass tones, hypnotic synth textures and off-kilter organic percussion. Dorisburg’s ‘Skvulivurp’ follows next, a high tempo stripped-back cut employing popping glitched out drums, expansive reverberations and a murky atmospheric tension.

DJ Lily then steps up first on the flip side with ‘Meet The High Priestess’, taking things down a more cinematic route with swirling synth sequences, elongated bass tones and robust drums. Tam Nisam’s ‘Urista’ then wraps up the package with a psychedelic twist, fusing mind-altering metallic tones with crunchy low-slung drums and weighty sub bass hits.
