When Max Julien passed away on January 1st, 2022, I went back through 70s Blaxploitation films to revisit the music of that time. This song was built around a single Wah-guitar riff and pays tribute to the music of that beautiful  subgenre of black music. Long live the Funk.

Taking it back to the Boom Bap, in its infancy; when the beat was rugged, the melody was jazzy and there wasn't much flair or effects. The instrumental spoke for itself.

The original title track to her 2023 album, "Music For Your Soul" is perfect. I wanted to give the track a Soulful House remix worthy of House culture, and respectful of Maysa's enormous and legendary talent.

Mad, mad, MAD respect to Jaidene Veda! Her unique voice is unmistakable; her style is sophisticated; and her music (no matter what she touches) is Golden. I had been searching for quite awhile, to get my hands on an a cappella version of her music. But, the "Heart of Gold-Strings" arrangement was more than I could hope for! This track made the perfect base layer for a smooth remix, and was an absolute joy to work on. I was thinking: after work, around 6pm, what type of House would I want to unwind to?

The Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator

Writing devotionals, short stories and articles for the Lord is a passion of mine. But I also love the rhythm of a deep kick drum, tight snares, and harmonic melodies laced together to form a hip hop track. So, it was only a matter of time before I put the two passions together, to make my own sound.
