With a sound derived from the pulse of their native Denmark and honed in and around New York Cities’ Union Square, Brothers Moving is the result of four young, traveling musicians trying to lighten the load of constant road rambling through music. Built on no special concept or genre, their first street show found the group fresh, with no set list, no defined aesthetic, not even a name.

The Brothers’ music is the result of playing in the streets, where a marked value placed on mobility, enigmatic energy, ingenuity, and simplicity will always remain the cornerstones of solid performance. Rooted in the folk, funk, soul, rock & blues they love, it is the pure and raw result of impulse and creativity happening when four brothers pick up their instruments and let the rest go.

The band is the result of four young traveling musicians from Denmark, trying to make the travels cheaper by playing music for the passers by. Brothers Moving was made on no special concept or genre. We played our first show, without a set list of songs or even a band name.

Our setup is the result of playing in the streets, trying to be as energetic, versatile, mobile and simple as possible. The style is based on the blues, funk, folk, rock and soul music that we love. It is that pure and raw result of impulse and creativity that happens, when four guys pick up their instruments and start jamming.

We play music because it makes us happy and gives us energy. 
Our goal is to share that happiness and energy with you as a listener – So thanks for listening!

Keep On Talking To Yourself

Brothers Moving is a danish band with roots as street performers in New York City. The group is made by mixing genres and singing in both English and Danish, and their musical style is inspired by blues, funk, reggae, folk and early rock and roll. Upon their formation a street band, Brothers Moving has since developed into becoming a touring act, performing in venues and at festivals around the world.

Brothers Moving’s self-titled debut-album was released in 2012. Their sophomore album, 'Autonomy', was released in 2018. Over the past years Brothers Moving has released several singles and EPs, including their rendition of Cab Calloway's 'Minnie The Moocher' as well as a live double-single titled 'Tea Room Sessions'. In 2022 the group released two EPs titled 'Choppin'' and 'Pickin''. The final EP to conclude an EP-trilogy goes by the name 'Strummin'' and was released on January 12th 2024.
