With the sound of Drumcode’s 15 Year anniversary still ringing in the ears of those who attended one of the labels special tour events or bought the commemorative compilation, Adam Beyer’s seminal Techno label dusts down the bunting and rolls out the party banners once again this month to celebrate the labels landmark 100th release. With such longevity being a mark of the consistency that has come to define Drumcode’s output over the years, it is highly appropriate that this milestone occasion be marked by releasing two new Adam Beyer tracks, The Color Out Of Space and Lovecraft, a collaboration with Ida Engberg, that follows up her Blue Yonder EP from September 2011

Drumcode mark their landmark 100th release with a two-track EP that comes directly from the heart of the label’s operation. Just as with the label’s first release sixteen years ago, Adam Beyer positions himself at the controls, unleashing the shimmering ‘The Color Out Of Space’ with its euphoric melody riding on the back of nagging chords and booming kick. A product of Beyer’s studio collaboration with Ida Engberg, ‘Lovecraft’ takes its place on the b-side, cutting a trippy journey through distinctive chord patterns and undulating melodies that bounce around in the mix, underpinned by a heads-down groove.

Newcomer Jamie Simpson is someone who is sure to quickly raise the ranks in the world of electronic music. Discovered by Anja Schneider over the summer who heard his demo for “Body Thief” she tracked him down online to tell him she liked the track and planned to play in Ibiza at Space. He happened to be visiting Ibiza at the time and tried to come say hello to her but was unable to reach the DJ booth due to the club being so jam-packed. When she finally played the track he started waving and pointing out to her that it was him. After relocating to Berlin he was finally able to have a proper meeting with the Mobilee crew and his first EP on Leena Music was born.

His debut titled Body Thief features three floor filling tracks that will lift the listener into a state of pure bliss with a range of different styles from tech-house to techno. The young talent shows that even a newcomer can deliver a high quality of sound that will guarantee to land on charts and in record bags from one side of the globe to the other.  Keep an eye and ear out for the this new talent who is only beginning to show us what he is capable of and from his debut release it looks like his future will certainly be bright.

The first release of 2017 for Motek Music comes from Germany and artist Marcus Sur. Marcus has delivered a deep and driving 3 track EP including tracks ‘The Traveller’, ‘The 4 Headed Horse’ and ‘The Bogus Canary’. This release is steeped in underground tones, hypnotic repartition blended with intelligent arrangement and combines the warmth of Deep House, with relentless Techno articulation. Remixing on this release we are excited to welcome Florian Rietze with his take on ‘The 4 Headed horse’ and Dead-Tones & Fassi with their cut of ‘The Traveller’. Florian has kept the drive of the original 4 Headed Horse but added soft synth and pad layers to give the track a smoother appeal whilst keeping strong dance floor punch. Dead-Tones & Fassi have destructed The Traveller, using lead elements of the original and reworking them. Their version is also stripped back and spacious allowing for more bounce in the production in contrast to the drive of the original.

After a successful debut year in 2016 on Soma, SLV kicks off 2017 in his suitably unique style with the Rises EP. The mysterious Berlin based producer has crafted a blazing 3 tracker that gracefully moves from hard hitting Deep Techno to more moving, melodic edged material. 

Connections gets things started at a fiery pace as SLV’s signature sub heavy, rolling percussion drives out atop a hollowed out vocal sample, aiming directly for peak time, dance floor action. Planetary goes a little deeper and hypnotic as yet more intense drums and crashing highs, combined with a mesmerising synth hook, end up in ferocious outcomes. Closing this latest release from SLV is Rises where he really takes things on a journey. Certainly things are at a slower pace than the previous two tracks but SLV makes up for that in emotive content. Beautifully crafted, delayed pianos are floated across driving beats and wisp-like hi hats. 

Another standout and individual creation for the, as yet, unidentified SLV.

The Sol Selectas family expands to Moscow Russia, with a debut EP from Zakir. 
The titles "Ruhi" and  "Meree Aatma" translate to the same meaning: "my Soul". These words are also terms of endearment for a person's lover, and Zakir tells the story of two Oriental love stories.  "Ruhi" is an Arabian tale with a magical oud, while  "Meree Aatma"  is an Indian romance with an enchanting flute.  The live instrumentation  blends beautifully with warm bass and arpeggios for an irrisistable groove. For the remix,  Just Emma from Under Your Skin Records, strips down the original "Ruhi", creating a deeper slow track of beautiful Arabesque techno. Sol Selectas label head Sabo transforms "Meree Aatma" into a percussive workout with lush strings and sitar for serious dance floor momentum. The artwork by Helia Jamali captures the spirit and soul, of the female love and energy we hear in the music.

Filled with contrasts in light and shadow and all the shades in between, Afterlife is thrilled to announce a collaborative release of Mind Against and Aether. 
‘Solaris’ is a melancholic listen in the form of a three track EP that brings in the light, dives in the dark and finally grounds you.

Ethnic patterns with African motives, tribal percussions, glorious pads, epic melodies all at once sounds way too crazy for modern electronic music, but hello, let us introduce you to R.I.P Bestia and his debut EP ‘African Wedding Ceremony’.

Lead single is a warm desert grooved track with chanting vocals, repetitive motives and rich textures; they all interweave and vibe you right inside its African rhythm. A sense of multiple layering emerges as the density increases up until you dissolve completely. ‘African Wedding Ceremony’ is undoubtedly a wondrous sonic exposition for those who appreciate excellence.

Hypnotic bassline, light hi-hats and enticing vocals of ‘Missing You’ are bound to get you into some secret shamanic ritual.
