Gun For Hire Synopsis

Gun For Hire is a Two Sided Tale. 

Both a story about being in love and someone trying to take love away from you.

On one side you have a relationship born out of love but full of ignorance and distractions. One of the people of the relationship wants to go out and party and put off facing the problems at hand and halt growth. 

The other side is the side of moving on with quick flings with no feeling and a fast lifestyle that could catch up to you within a moment. You wanting to move on for the betterment of your sanity and your former partners but still harboring all of these feeling and this guilt formed from your wrongs. 

“i’m getting tired of these flashing lights”

both literal from the lights at a club and the lights of the fast life. 

“you don’t have to put up a fight” 

something said in an argument and something said to one’s self that’s coming to conclusion that fighting the chance to heal is not the way to go. 

“okay she don’t understand that i’m still in love”

The partner not understanding that even though you go through rough patches and hardships it doesn’t mean you’ve ever fell out of love with them. And on the other side, people will always assume you’ve moved on because you’re trying to move on so you come off as emotionally and romantically available. but in the end i don’t know what to think .

“she keeps on screaming she’s right, but i can’t help my denial”

this is the side of ignorance you showed when always taking a fight further than it needed to be. Being stubborn and thinking you had all of the answers.
But it is also the side of people trying to tell you what you want in life and that you should be better by now. 

“Light a blunt then i drown in the fire”

This is about being trapped in a world of substance abuse (not that weed is bad imo obvi) and how you can lose grip of yourself in your vices. 

“She killed my love she a gun for hire”

This can be taken in a lot of ways. Tbh this whole song is up to interpretation but the way i see is that the love is killed in both sides of the tale. Being left or leaving someone and feeling the effects of not knowing if you will ever find the feeling of love again. But on the other side it’s also about the flings of your life demeaning your idea of love and killing your love .

the song doesn’t need to be that deep but i always find meaning after i make a song more than when i go into making a song. anyways enjoy :)
