Dj Shimza Brief Biography
About DJ Shimza:
Mr. Ashley Raphala was born in Tembisa and grew the love of music particularly House Music from his early days as a child. He debut into House Music as a DJ in 2003 where he went on to win the Red Square DJ competition in 2006 which lifted his status in the House Music Arena.
Some of his achievements which have led to his superiority in House Music industry include South African Music Conference’s DJ Spin offs Competition, VO National Betrams “the next big thing, Gauteng Carnival DJ Competition
His latest achievements includes hosting the prestigious annual “Dj Shimza’s One Man show 1,2 & 3” and playing in some of country’s big concerts such as Spring Fiesta, Oh Ship and Yfm gigs alongside big names like Fresh, Oskido and others
DJ Shimza also released two CD compilations “SA House Charts” and “The Next Big Thing” which were both dominant in clubs, dance floors, social events and many other activities. He further travelled several countries such as Mexico, Labadie, United State of America and the UK. In all these countries and major cities, his music was regarded the best foreign music lovers of these areas had ever been exposed to.
Shimza later developed entrepreneurial skills as he was being exposed to formalities within the music industry and his involvement with Soul Candi Music as a student and later an employee for several months further sharpened these skills hence the birth of SHIMUZIC PRODUCTIONS. He founded this entity solely as a platform for proper management of his interests and to also assist and manage other up and coming talented young people within South Africa.
Shimza is also involved in a lot of charity work around his location Tembisa and his biggest annual charity event the “Dj SHIMZA’S ONE MAN SHOW” has been growing over the past 3 years which attracted over 7000 people last year.
Dj Shimza was featured on the Soul Candi Sessions 10 Album, which was Soul Candi’s 10th year Anniversary pack that included the likes of Euphonik, Whiskey, Lulo Café, Harael, Dj Fresh and other big names in the music industry.
Dj Shimza is also a mix dj on the new Mix slot on Yfm every Friday evening at 6pm labeled YTKO
It is without a doubt that Dj Shimza is golden talent, and he still believes in reaching greater heights.
