Leading us into the third century of sunset grooves mix tapes we have our friend and music lover Oscar Mederos. We crossed paths a number of years ago enjoying each other's music critiques and comments on music we loved and shared. 

Originally from Cuba and now based in Miami, you can be sure that he can point you in the right direction for any underground event that involves seriously good music. A true passionate, which can be heard whenever he is behind the decks. As a resident DJ at the "Do not sit on the furniture" nights or taking part in All Day I Dream events, he is without doubt an artist who will lead you on a unique musical experience. 

Therefore it is with a huge pleasure to be able to share this wonderful chill set he has put for us. Something light to go with this unusually rainy and cloudy summer we are experiencing in certain parts of the world.

The badabing diskos crew digs deep once more and comes up with two downtempo indie-house monsters from label regulars Vinny Villbass and Sommerfeldt.

Producer, artist, sound guru and DJ Vinny Villbass hails from Oslo with releases on Eskimo and Trunkfunk. He has also worked with experimental electronic artist Pantha Du Prince and is a versatile performer and musician. Here he works with Sommerfeldt who has previously worked under various aliases on acclaimed labels such as Paper Recordings and Full Pupp. He is an equally prominent figure of the Oslo club circuit and both of these new tracks came together while eating basement fish (fermented trout that's been cooking in a bucket of brine in a basement for two months) in a wood cabin somewhere in the Norwegian mountains during the pandemic of 2021. Opener 'Back in Time' leans backward in both rhythm and harmony and creates plenty of space for its heavy claps and hypnotic vocal cuts. This alluring and artful groove is perfect for both sunlit beaches and dark clubs alike. As always with this label, it's a track that oozes musicianship and class. The equally fresh 'Basement Fish' goes even deeper but explores harder energies as disharmonic analog synth mayhem is held together by rhythmic vocals from the ever-amazing Toshybot who was once part of late 90s supergroup Tøyen. It's a rugged groove with tripped-out synth effects designed to bring all new vibes to the dance floor. Vinny Villbass & Sommerfeldt have hooked themselves a couple of beauties for this EP. This record is a pure Italian duo craftsmanship affair and brought to you by Mushrooms Project & Almunia. Almunia is the Italian Psychedelic Rock/Disco/balearic project of Gianluca Salvadori & Leonardo Ceccanti. They made some beautiful releases on Claremont 56, Above Machine or Is It Balearic?. Mushrooms Project is the duo composed by Marco Lentano & Giorgio Giri, known for numerous eps on Leng, Under The Shade, Horn Wax, Hell Yeah or Is It Balearic? and its sublabel Uber.
Expect dark balearic summer vibes all over this one. 
Fellow countrymen Daniele Baldelli & Dionigi gave "Arena Raindrops" ,here premiered, a cosmic makeover. Artwork coverage comes from the north of The Netherlands where Klaas Jonkman, also known as De Fantoom, was inspired by the Rupicola Peruvianus creature to paint the cover of this record !

01 Richard Rossa - Mangroveee

The eighth piece of The Golden Ravedays puzzle will be released on Hippie Dance in August 2017. Number 8 of the series introduces two tracks that will take you to the far side of somewhere you’ve never been before. They are both reminiscent of outer space blues playing spooky games in a dust bowl.

Side A features Tuesday Paris Texas a tastefully arranged track with vintage sounds passing nonchalantly through a wild western aural landscape. The music is announced like a cowboy movie dual complete with bar doors swinging on rusty nails in slow motion. Mournful guitar strings swirl over a steady horseback galloping beat, expanding into a full-on-fire dance track. Halfway through a woman’s haunted voice appears and disappears like an eerie siren, a gunshot is fired (was that a gunshot?), a man whispers “what!?” Tuesday Paris Texas is in no hurry to give an answer.

Side B features Mirage a desert sound collage glued to a steady pulse that rolls and rolls, circumventing any destination. Mirage is a contour map of no surprising peaks just undulating valleys of wistful cathodic sound creeks, sometimes veering off to plains in full view of the moon, in earshot of solitary wolf cries. Like Tuesday Paris Texas, Mirage is testament of Superpitcher’s versatile prospecting beyond the elemental sound tools of the electronic music trade.

I always stay true to the sounds I provide. The waves I carefully select and over listen to, play between 90 to 122bpm, my favourite speed being around 115. The longest I’ve played is 12hrs and ruined everybodys Christmas in 2017.
Tend to sketch a lot when preping tracks in a certain composition, which brings me closer to my collection.
Please listen to this while you do whatever, because it’s a great companion when cleaning the pool. 
I Found the genre to be refreshing, hypnotising, psychedelic, warm and cold at the same time, self sufficient, stimulating, hopeful, underground, emotional, unstopable, harmonious, creative, inspiring, composed, tweaked, joyful with a certain smart unexpected Humour.
