Beyond The Struttosphere is a sonic collaboration between two London-based DJs combining their considerable musical production experience with an insatiable passion for cosmic chugging dark disco.

The cosmonauts embark on their most ambitious journey yet with the release of ‘Odyssey-10’ on Emerald & Doreen records. True to its name, the lead track evokes an epic space voyage propelled by driving arpeggiators, chunky layered percussion, high-octane guitar hits and the signature BTS chug bassline.

The tune progresses into a tectonic breakdown heightened by
spacey Juno chords before launching into a dynamite crescendo that burns contrails through the atmosphere.

Remixes are provided by two bastions of the scene: Mexican dark wave star
Vongold introduces lustful celestial vocals into the mix, dialling down the tempo, and repurposing the track into a post-punk acid chugger that takes no prisoners. French dark disco connoisseur Badknife applies his masterful touch with a second remix, cranking up the throb and deploying interstellar synth arrangements that will have you reaching for your seatbelt.

The duo venture into uncharted territory with ‘Satellite Cities’, a collaboration with cosmic queen Miss Zagato. Undoubtedly their funkiest production to date, this galactic chugger is a hypnotic blend of funky guitar plucks, electrifying stabs and groovy riffs, underpinned by Miss Zagato’s intoxicating lyrics that transport you to the moon in a hypersonic X-15. Building in momentum and complexity, the track climaxes with a mesmerising vocal chorus, elevated by cosmic synth melodies and a resonating mid-range bass that will echo for aeons to come.

The original is backed by a sublime remix from Spanish electronic virtuoso, Ivan Fabra, whose take re-imagines the track as a pulsating Balearic dancefloor anthem loaded with powerful drums and ethereal pads that melt into the sunset.

The EP concludes with ‘Storming Heaven’, a sonically charged acid trip that adventures through the cosmos, guided by a weighty chugging bass, a psychedelic 303 line, tripped out guitar chords and an array of cosmic FX. The tune traverses two mystical breakdowns before ascending into stratospheric planes with a euphoric synth sequence and a staggering guitar solo courtesy of long-time BTS collaborator Stannard Procedure. Bio :
Joe lewandowski grew-up listening to both rock and house music. After years of grinding his teeth as a rock guitarist, he started mixing in New York raves and clubs.
 	Once back in France, Joe followed that promise and got involved in local underground scene: initially with Le Pas-Sage and later with White Label Radio and Madman Regent. Through these events, Joe always stood for creating alternative, open-minded and safe spaces for (re)creation. 
	This commitment is also present in Joe's work as art director of Pamela, an inclusive and alternative club in Paris. Meanwhile, Joe has made a name for himself in the Parisian scene. 

	His sets can veer seamlessly between pumping techno, deep house merged with unexpected treasures. Thanks to his open-ended philosophy, he became one of resident of Garage club and he is now equally invited for raves, festivals and clubs all over the world. 
	When he's not behind a DJ booth, Joe Lewandowski is also a promising and prolific artist. He has released a wide array of music, from disco edits, to house or techno, both on well-established labels like Skylax, Hard Fist, Kitsune or rising ones like AMSEM, with always a distinctive sound signature, rock driven rhythms mixed with psychedelic textures.					 As an accomplished musician, he plays himself all the guitar and bass parts of his tracks and for his live. Recently, Joe has attracted a wider recognition and has been remixed by Lauer, Kasper Bjorke or Shubostar.

Jesús Aparicio is a Spanish DJ and producer who has published music continuously and under different aliases since 2004.
In 2012 he began producing music for “Spa In Disco” label under the alias “Parissior“, more influenced by a mix of funk, italo-disco, New wave, electro, industrial, letfield styles. In 2020 he releases his own label: "Espacio Cielo", in which he explores styles such as synthwave, acid house, retro & future disco and the styles that have most influenced him as a DJ.
Last week we released a bomb remix by him for Velax's EP "UFO Disco" and today we have the pleasure to receive him for our HEARPOD series!

Romanian living in Vienna. Mixing digital for pleasure since 2013. Played various Clubs in Austria and Romania, with various Artists, local or international.
I always stay true to the sounds I provide. The waves I carefully select and over listen to, play between 90 to 122bpm, my favourite speed being around 115. The longest I’ve played is 12hrs and ruined everybodys Christmas in 2017.
Tend to sketch a lot when preping tracks in a certain composition, which brings me closer to my collection.
Please listen to this while you do whatever, because it’s a great companion when cleaning the pool. 
I Found the genre to be refreshing, hypnotising, psychedelic, warm and cold at the same time, self sufficient, stimulating, hopeful, underground, emotional, unstopable, harmonious, creative, inspiring, composed, tweaked, joyful with a certain smart unexpected Humour.
