This is a great one Bruce. I most enjoyed the unusual time signatures when they are hidden in rhythms and melodies that make them feel more accessible, like the accents youve put on the one and four in this piece. So well done...

The Piano Cloud Winter Landscape Challenge, needed more than musical talent, it required me to ignore my Southern Hemisphere hot surroundings & dig extremely deep to find snow! We have some high mountains in Australia that get snow on their peaks a few months a year, but nothing like you get overseas, so the first time I really saw snow heaped up & falling from the sky in an urban area, was on a visit to my Oma in Germany. For that reason, this sparse piano tune is called "Schnee Gefallen", which just means the snow has fallen. It tries to capture that really quiet sound made by the flakes falling & unlike other weather patterns, it has a very still atmospheric ambience.

The Dance of Zalongo
June 2018
During the Souliote War in Greece, December 1803, the Souliotes began evacuating Souli after their defeat by the forces of the local Ottoman-Albanian ruler, Ali Pasha. During the evacuation, a small group of about 60 Souliot women and their children were trapped by Ali's troops in the mountains of Zalongo in Epirus. In order to avoid capture and enslavement, the women threw their children first and then themselves off a steep cliff, committing suicide.  According to the legend, they jumped down the precipice one after the other while singing and dancing. 
The name, Dance of Zalango, also refers to a popular Greek dance-song commemorating the event.  I was moved by the story and the dance song to create this music.

(Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows) the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.

About Intermezzo D'Anniversaire by Danae Vlasse: This piece is a Theme and Variations on the famous Op118 No2 Intermezzo by  Johannes Brahms. It develops my favorite 8 measure theme from the original work and was specifically composed in the style of Brahms. The second section in this piece is built on specific pitches such that it incorporates a message for the recipient of the commission "Joyeux Anniversaire Karen" ("Happy Birthday Karen").

Winner: MTAC Composers Today 2014 First Place in Composition "Advanced Work" Category.

Winner: Radio Music Awards 2016 "Best Classical Recording" Category.

Bruce Klepper is a Colorado based composer with thousands of listeners worldwide. Klepper studied music composition in the 1970's and received a degree in music composition and theory.  After writing music for many years and starting a tech company based in Colorado, Klepper retired in 2014 from business so he could devote myself to his true passion, composing music. Klepper's music premiered in Carnegie Hall, September 2022.  Klepper writes music in a number of different styles, including contemporary classical music, jazz, soundscapes using field recordings, ambient music, and ballet music.  Klepper has been composing music for Danse Etoile Ballet (www.danseetoile.org) since 2016. Klepper has been collaborating with Parlando School of Musical Arts (www.parlando.org) faculty Britta De Groot and Sergei Govorov for over a year now, composing and arranging new music for the dynamic piano and saxophone duo to premier around the United States. Klepper's music can be heard on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and SoundCloud.
