Derek Allen has been with Mad Decent since its inception, having an active roll in producing some of our most successful and exciting releases as a label. As part of the Mad Decent crew and one of Diplo's co-producers, he co-wrote Major Lazer's "Lazer Theme" and "Come On" with Diplo and Tiesto; as well as engineering and additional production on MIA's albums Kala and MAYA, Robyn’s Body Talk, and Major Lazer’s Guns Don’t Kill People, Lazers. Coming from a background of hip hop and dubstep production as well as performing as a vocalist in Kentucky DIY punk bands Derek's DJA EP combines dozens of his influences into a sound all his own. Download his take on the Police's classic "Spirits in the Material World" off their 1981 album Ghost in the Machine for free to get a taste of what's to come

Oxen Butcher debuts on Flashover Recordings with his huge new single with the lovely vocals of Bonnie Rabson. ‘I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free’ is a typical Summer anthem, perfect for those ultimate sunshine filled moments.

Oxen Butcher burst onto the scene in January of last year with his first track which was given away as a free download with it immediately supported by BBC Introducing, this quickly followed by his first official release ‘Love & Happiness EP’, which proceeded to be a Beatport Chill Out No.1.

The second EP also went top 3 on Beatport’s Chillout chart and was again supported by BBC Introducing. His next single ‘Walking On The Sun’ was playlisted on Tiesto’s AFTR:HRS Spotify playlist.

And now there’s ‘I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free’.  Music lovers will recognize it from the original by legendary singer Nina Simone, but Oxen Butcher has truly made it his own together with the beautiful vocals from Bonnie Rabson.
