Accompanying FFT's 12” is a cassette album which provides that polar opposite side to FFT – a collection of compelling beatless ruminations under the banner of Total Self-Fulfilment. Gliding from low frequency industrial textures to expressive synth modulation, this is far from static music, even as it moves without the aid of a traditional rhythm section.

It’s a strong first chapter for BRUK, with future releases lined up from artists similarly poking at the fabric of contemporary club music to find their own unique spaces for expression.

There was a strange ringing which echoed in the air as the wind howled and rattled against the windows. It was a sense tone, a warning alert designed to indicate that a storm was coming on the horizon. The city was already feeling the effect of the bluster and rain, people rushed between doorways and cars down below, keen to avoid the storm. The night was approaching fast and darkness could be seen engulfing the horizon in the distance, soon it would be their turn. 

Pataphysical previously released an album via Glasgow based record label 12th Isle, it was hugely well received. Now they contribute to a new compilation set for forthcoming release via New Words. Titled "Neuro-Defragmentation", the compilation is a follow up to the first release on the label from Quilsk, "Artificial Imaginations" which was released last year. 

"Neuro-Defragmentation" will be available firstly on digital, followed by vinyl and is out today.

Curated by Montreal based producer, Jean Grünewald (who goes under the alias ottoman.grüw) and online magazine, Mes Enceintes Font, 'Montreal Dances Across Borders' brings together the best from Montreal's underground dance scene, raising money for good causes and highlighting the principles of solidarity and unity that underpin dance music culture.

Although the compilation is available for free download, MDAB ask for pay-as-you-feel donations, raising money for 'Solidarity Across Borders'. Active since 2003, Solidarity Across Borders are a migrant network based in Montreal. Together they mobilise to support individuals and families who experience unjust treatment within the immigration and refugee system.

We have the first listen on Aquaventure's 'Expanding Uncertainty'; a name that feels particularly poignant. White noise dissonance, watery textures and distorted whispers give way to a punchy arrangement driven by bubbling robotics. A looping simulation of sorts, 'Expanding Uncertainty' is a clear representation of music as an art form.
