KŐVÁRI is the third chapter of the BRVTAL compilation series that sets memory of Hungarian architecture and brutalism with 14-track contributions by international and local artists.

György Kővári (1934-1982) is the most mysterious figure of the among Hungarian architects in the last 60 years, who built characteristic and well known buildings like Déli train station (1961-62, 1969), Balatonfüred train station (1967-72), Skála (1982) at Nyugati square or not long ago demolished Kőbánya-Kispest metro and train station (1980), just to mention a few. He never gave interviews, he did not talk much about his works in public, and his oeuvre was not even discussed yet. It looks like he only lived for planning buildings in his short life, so it's not a surprise after university he started working at MÁV Design Institute as an architect, later becoming its leader until his death. Furthermore he was chief architect of METROBER in the '70s, where he also worked on the development of transport hubs in Budapest.

We are glad that a lot of new and some returning artists join their forces on this diverse techno compilation with which we commemorate another and underrated iconic figure of the local brvtalism.

Ryuji Takeuchi:
Making a return to Pure Hate after his infamous ‘Essentials EP’ on PH002, Ryuji Takeuchi is renowned for his driving, hypnotic, atmospheric, raw, emotional interpretation of Techno. he has released on some key labels over the years including Inner Surface Music, LK Rec, Arms, Clan Destine Records, Infidel Bodies, Instruments Of Discipline, Depth. Request, his own LSN & Hue Helix imprints and more recently Dax J’s Monnom Black.

Gaja:
Once locked into the throes of Berlin’s ceaseless techno throb and now back home in Albenga, Italy, Gaja represents the gnarly, noisy extremity of modern dance music. It’s a desolate, distorted place where blasts of noise spit in the empty footprints once shaped by snares and hi-hats, and the bass bleeds out over everything. Having recently released his debut album ‘Morning Fist’ on his own Ophism imprint, Gaja makes his Pure Hate debut in style with track ‘Hangman’.

Swarm Intelligence:
From rhythmic noise to the brutal and bleak constitute a distinctive sound that Simon Hayes has been honing for more than a decade under his Swarm Intelligence guise. Having remixed MDD on PH003 The Dublin-born artist has cemented his place in the Techno underground with critically acclaimed LPs and EPs on labels like 47, Instruments of Discipline and Voitax plus standout sets at clubs like Berghain and Basement NY. Simon also recently launched his own self titled vinyl imprint Swarm Intelligence as a platform to explore his own imaginings of futuristic industrial music.

We are really happy to present to you our new release, «Fragments Of Decay EP » by the polish producer Violent, label boss of Lethal Curse. Five industrial masterpieces including two remixes by the Berlin based broken beat monster Swarm Intelligence, and Samot, founder of Nexe Records and half of NX1.

Violent came into being in March 2010. Inspired by different aspects of art, he decides to transfer inspirations in to sound. All of this have been noticed by the overseas record labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Animal Farm, Bipolar Disorder, Vast Perception and many others. They let him develop the project outside of the homeland. In 2021 he created a label called "Lethal Curse" which is a project focused on experimental, cinematic an noisy sound with a dose of poems and visual art.

1 - Hellscape
Let’s introduce this EP with this slow and dark masterpiece: Hellscape. Deconstructed and rolling drums patterns, this opening track sounds like a tribal ritual sacrifice. Be ready to fight.

2 - Utopia
Broken beat techno at its finest! Doomy atmosphere and eerie impact sounds, surrounded by some cinematics drone and synths. Horror music to escape the inquisition.

3 - Total Damage
Catchy and groovy 4-4 indutrial techno track, with an unforgetable drum break. Expect some distorted kickdrums and punchy snares. This track will slice up your local dancefloor.

4 - Hellscape (Samot Remix)
Monstruous remix by Samot, with a crazy rework of the original Hellscape’s synth. Crunchy drums, gloomy morph bass and cold ambience, vinking lumberjack vibes

5 - Total Damage (Swarm Intelligence Remix)
As always, Swarm Intelligence brings the chaos on this one, with a fucking angry noisy rework of Total Damage. It’s judgment day.
