The Body Language album series has been a flagship for the Get Physical label since the mid-noughties, with instalments taken over by Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, DJ T., and many more. Now the label welcomes the excellent Cioz into the hot set. Volume 23 is packed with Cioz remixes, collaborations, and standout singles from the well-regarded and self-taught artist. Some are brand new, some have been teased on EPs in the lead up to the full release, but each one proves he is an artist with an accomplished sound. Cioz hails from Bergamo in Italy and has established a fine reputation on labels like Monaberry and Stil vor Talent. Further collaborations include the bustling drums and fizzing synths of 'Hey Honey' with T.M.A, late-night headiness of 'Haunted' with Nairobi D, and organic grooves of punchy floor-filler 'Focus Pocus' with Boy Oh Boy.

'A rising star from South America, Ric Niels has lit up the progressive house scene over the past three years. Now joining the Proportion roster, the Argentinean artist releases his “Pirate / Psyncopath” EP.

Renowned for his evocative and emotive sound, Ric Niels has found himself courted by some of the finest modern imprints through his fusing of analogue and digital synths to create a blend of deep, organic and tech sounds. As such, his music has found a welcome home on such celebrated imprints as The Soundgarden, Particles, Plaisirs Sonores and Mango Alley. Almost a half-century of production credits can thus be found for the latter in both solo and collaborative guises with Ric seeing work with Dowden, The Wash and Mango himself grace the Russian imprint.

Supported by an elite DJ cast list that includes the likes of Nick Warren, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Henry Saiz, it is not difficult to see why the Argentinean from Chaco Province has continued to be such a sought-after producer within the progressive house fraternity. Opening his Proportion account with a scintillating musical diptych, “Pirate” immediately grabs listener attention with its pounding beat and deep bassline groove. Light percussive touches pervade the dense sonic layers as trademark melodic prowess reveals itself through a dynamic dancefloor backdrop. Cascading synth lines and delay-infused arpeggios ripple across the soundstage, coming to the fore at a striped back breakdown before a growling bass riff heralds an exciting final movement full of potency and drive.

Pulling the listener in with a shaker-fuelled percussive line and chest-thumping kick, “Psyncopath” provides the hallmark rhythmic poise for which Ric Niels has become renowned for. Full of sinister menace, a creeping bassline pattern and textured pads swim dizzyingly across the stereo spectrum in the early stages before a filtered arpeggio wends its way onto the main stage with poise and verve. Infused with white-noise at a mid-point chock full of sonic layers and captivating melodic characters, the final movement drives effortlessly forward as the hypnotic groove once again finds it mark.

'With the 45th release on their esteemed imprint, GMJ and Matter welcome Tantum to Meanwhile with his 3-track, "Secondary / Suan Pan / Narko".

Entering the world of music by way of electric guitar, it wasn't long before Tantum started to experiment with the music of legendary figures including Eric Prydz, Deadmau5 and Fehrplay. Quickly finding his feet with a distinctive blend of melodic techno and progressive house, the German made an impressive debut on EIN2 in late 2018 in partnership with Thales Boutroumlis. A full EP debut on Juicebox Music followed in early 2019 from which Tantum has continued to find himself forging an impressive path, culminating in May 2023's "Korner" for the Praveen Achary led imprint. Close to a century of production credits have followed that early work with releases on Mango Alley, Monaberry and Guy J's Lost and Found. It is for the latter, that Tantum has released 3 EPs including January 2023's "Another Day / Havel / Acetone". 

Supported by a prominent and growing band of A-listers including Super Flu, Nick Warren, Sasha and Guy J himself, it is an honour to welcome Tantum to Meanwhile for a debut release. Driven forward by a chest-thumping kick and ticking percussion, "Secondary" soon finds a smooth bass groove providing dancefloor credentials. A shimmering arpeggio pans the stereo spectrum with ease as occasional note changes pique interest. Reaching a filtered zenith at a gloriously extended breakdown, the track drops back into its low-slung groove in the third movement to impressive effect.

Continuing with a similar cast of characters assembled for "Suan Pan", a strong beat and hypnotic arpeggio once again play their part as a delay-infused analogue synth lead creates subtle tension and spine-tingling atmosphere. Using melodic elements as the main rhythmic force, the track rises and falls with ease while a bassline sequence acts as a dancefloor anchor alongside off-beat hi-hats. The result is an exciting original production.

The final piece sees another atmospheric offering, courtesy of "Narko". Redolent in eerie stereo-panned effects and mesmerising melodic sequence, muted stabs come to life with gradual open-filtered energy. A further counterpoint melody enters the fray at the breakdown, rising to a rousing and chaotic LFO frenzy before the narrative of previous tracks is continued via heavy rhythmic pattern and sub-bass groove.

Hitting the heights with easy skill and sublime artistry, Tantum delights with "Secondary / Suan Pan / Narko".'

'Rabbit Hole' opens in fine form with sparse percussion and a bubbling bass line making way for intricate melodic patterns. Growing organically tension builds towards the break with Vangelis-like layers of synthwork adding a futuristic 80s feel. On the remix, Stereo Express take it deeper teasing out the main motifs over two breaks which develops into a monster mid-set groover.'
