I Have A Crush On You

I took Marc's instructions for [disquiet0540] the other way around to explore a different avenue possible with this combination of numbers: Instead of 5/4, I went for a 4/5 feel (so based on five quintuplets rather than four sixteenth notes to the beat. Or you could look at it as a VERY fast 5/4).

Also, I tried for something along the lines of Strobes from London: https://strobesband.bandcamp.com

So I ended up with a rather unsteady-feeling groove and the tricky task of playing a couple of guitar breaks in quintuplets.
But I spent far more time on the beat, obviously, which was too much fun.

One of New York City's rising talents, Dylan Scott Farrugia, better known as Dysco, has proven his artistic ability to both fans and peers alike. Whether in his home country of Malta, or on the streets of New York City, Dysco completely immersed himself in the culture of electronic music from the jump. With a keen ear for the future sounds of the underground, and a quick mind for creating stellar music, Dysco was quickly recognized as an artist to watch.

Dysco's passion and hard work in the scene were recognized as word spread throughout the NYC Nightlife community - ultimately leading him to perform the halls of legendary nightclubs such as Output, Pacha, Sankeys, and Cielo in New York, as well as Gianpula and La Grotta in Malta, Tanz Bar City Hall in Poland - all before the age of 25.

Flash forward through many late nights in production and vibrant sets across the years, Dysco is now taking his game to the next level through powerful original work that pays homage to the past, present, and future of Underground music. With his rich, dark melodic sound, expect only the best from the man known as Dysco!

Mizuhara Shuoshi was a 20th century Japanese poet. Shuoshi rebelled against the principles of emotional detachment in haiku, which he thought limited his ability to emotionally express himself through poetry: he started a magazine called Staggerbush which focused on a more romantic, lyrical type of haiku.

Vilhelm @Hassselgren was introduced to me last summer at the Way Out West Festival in Gothenburg, by fellow friend/previous contributor to NLS, @ebende (Daniel Bumba).  

Hasselgren has been behind the decks at most of the nightclubs in Gothenburg, where he resides, but has also been crafting and releasing soulful, warm and under the radar-house hooks, most of them uploaded to his own Soundcloud channel for the last couple of years.

Opening with and setting the mood with Dorisburgs "Mima", the mix he has recorded for this chapter of NLS is a cozy and murky house journey, sprinkled with melody, lush pads and tons of groove for you to dance away that winter blues.
