Cette année, j’ai surtout consolidé ce que j’avais fait jusqu’ici.
J’ai repris tout ce que j’ai appris en traitement du son sur ordinateur pour revenir sur les morceaux créés quand j’étais exclusivement sur synthé.
Là, c’est le second set live que je publie.
L’exercice est un peu délicat : je pars d’un enregistrement en direct, mais la prise était de qualité suffisante pour me laisser une vraie marge de travail.
L’occasion de réécouter, de revivre des émotions anciennes, avec tous les souvenirs qui vont avec… et parfois un peu de doute et de douleur aussi.

This is a mix done on a stormy day in Perth, Western Australia -
the most isolated city in the world now in further isolation... I tried to 
make a mix that lifts you out of the lock down and into a universal powerful energy of good!! I hope it can!!

Two sets of never-ending, towering concrete blocks faced off each other, alternating rhythmically to electric power transmission lines and large swathes of luxuriant green, that stretched out towards the sky and met to create domes of flora. Here, gigantic walking palms coexisted peacefully alongside barrigonas, huicungos and pallas, and many more trees, flowers and plants that offered shelter from the incessant, warm showers that graced the land and its terracotta paths on an almost daily basis. And beneath this humid undergrowth, a quiet but vibrant array of creatures lived amongst the ungurahuis and rubber trees; most of the fauna opted for a nocturnal lifestyle that dimmed their exotic colours and allowed them to showcase their diverse vocal abilities without being seen. 

Gottwax, the record label arm of Wales-own Gottwood Festival, returns after four years with a 30-track compilation that evokes the spirit of the music festival. Featuring electronic stalwarts such as Roman Flügel, DJ Tennis and Margaret Dygas, alongside fledgling emerging talents, we get a taste of the collection, compiled by the festival owners and new label manager Geoff Kirkwood AKA Me Me Me records boss Man Power. With Em & Stav's "Driver", the duo share a muted piece of Bristol-infused bass brimming with minimal sounds, glitching accents and unfettered beats.

Luca Lozano spent the 2020 lockdown sharpening his tools, using the time off from traveling and DJing to re-center and re-vise. As the pace of life slowed, so did the BPMs and the Klasse Wrecks boss sought refuge in the distraction that the studio and the creative practice can offer. 'Lozano 2.0' may sound like the producer shifting down a gear, but probably only with the goal of preserving his energy until the world is ready to spin again.

Butter Sessions tees up a flawless duo, Naarm (Melbourne) based artists Mousse(Simon Barry) and Trevor(James Vinciguerra) for a split 7" release with a screen-printed sleeve. Both artists add the release to their highly-regarded archives. On the A-Side, Mousse submits Northstar. This is his second contribution to Butter Sessions; a robust follow up to his funky explorations showcased on the Bungalow Classics12". On the flipside, Trevor follows up his 2019Becoming a Bed LP(Alter)with the astute Darron.


As one can expect, Mousse's Northstar is soaked in infectious house sequencing and sci-fi hypnobeat, while laced with dialogue extracted from the 1986 anime film Fist of the Northstar. The B-Side track Darron sees visual artist Trevor jumping from his contribution to the record sleeve into the record itself. The piece emits glitchy electro bound in coarse breaks but with just the right amount of room to breathe. As two punchy aligned compositions, this split release introduces a powerful pairing.

There was an old saying, one which had stood the test of time and had acted as a placeholder for arguments and debates all over. In this instance it was used to signal the end of a relationship, time had passed and things had changed whilst each lover had begun to care less and less. They thought not about one another no more and said as they pleased with disregard for feelings, emotions or the legacy which had lead them to this place.

Meetsystem is set to release a new album on Nous'klaer Audio. Described as music to "dance and dream to" he channels elements of electronica alongside pop and ambient soundscapes across what is a luxurious, highly listenable record. This track features Oceanic and comes with our recommendation.
