This one is actually my favourite track from the Chrono Cross official soundtrack (Yasunori Mitsuda) 
I didn't have the music score to make a 100% accurate cover, so I basically played it by ear. 
This is just for fun and it's intented to be a tribute, since this game and these songs changed my life in so many ways, so is not my intention to infringe any copyright.

Final Fantasy VII - Cosmo Canyon (Request Cover)

"A Place to Call Home" (いつか帰るところ, Itsuka Kaeru Tokoro?, lit. The Place I'll Return to Someday) is a theme of Final Fantasy IX. It was composed by Nobuo Uematsu.

"A Place to Call Home" is a short, melodic piece based on the D Dorian mode and is contrapuntal in nature. However, some of these elements are more or less apparent, or even non-existent, in the many reiterations heard throughout Final Fantasy IX. Despite its shortness, the theme has been included in many official arrangements and compilations and played several times during live performances along with the game's main theme, "Melodies of Life".

I've been in love with this song since I was a kid, and it's become an important piece of my inspiration and creativity.

Nuevos Comienzos

Requiem para un amigo (Requiem for a friend) is a melody I wrote just a couple days ago, mostly inspired by the living memory of my grandpa. Who was such a good friend and never gave up on anybody, even when all the lights faded away.

Even though I had previously decided to stop making covers and focus on my own projects, couldn't help it at all. After a couple years without being able to play, yesterday watching my sister getting totally hyped up by the upcoming remake got me in the mood of nostalgia. 

This particular melody evokes numerous good memories from the past, and I'm positive that this cover is going to be part of a new set of songs, with better quality and not so ludicrously close to the original scores.

Lobo Estepario (tributo)

After being heavily inspired by Blast Djentleman's work (which is awesome indeed, feel free to check out his videogame covers https://soundcloud.com/lvaro-garc-a-1), finally found myself some free time to put my hands on this great, but nostalgic piece. Which has been stuck inside my head for more than two decades, and let me tell you, it's going nowhere. 

Donkey Kong Country and its music means a lot to me, since I grew up spending a whole bunch of hours with friends, just to beat some levels or defeating a specific boss. Even though we weren't skilled at all (we were little kids back then) and the task wasn't easy whatsoever, sharing some time with them was great indeed, so it was completely worth it.

Really hope my version does it some justice, I must admit I'm not quite used to using these crazy amounts of distortion, after all...I'm just playing a Telecaster! ;)

Bryan Evert - Huella En El Desierto (Original)

Re edición de una vieja melodía que compuse allá por el 2009 y ad-hoc a estos días de otoño. Inspirada originalmente por esa sensación desesperada e incontrolable de encontrar un lugar donde echar raíces, aquel espacio donde las melodías y notas musicales generadas por oxidadas cuerdas, se vuelven una con la voz de la lluvia. Donde la madera de mi guitarra resuena y vibra en sintonía con el crujir de los árboles, y el zumbido de los insectos que van y vienen imperturbables.

Me es imposible renegar de la vida en sociedad y en ciudad sin caer con ello en la hipocresía, pues gozo de todas sus regalías y comodidades. Quizá sólo lleve ese bosque conmigo todo el tiempo, y a veces hasta olvide que soy humano, siendo muy esquivo y hosco. 

Espero que estas melodías simples, puedan generen en ustedes un pequeño festival de colores, sensaciones y estímulos. Y así,  en lo posible, contagiarles toda la pasión que en mí la música suscita.

Hogar en el Bosque

After losing an important part of my gear, I'm so glad I could save this song, which was part of my upcoming and brand new band project. Even though the vocals were soon to be recorded, I'm not going to be able to do so until I can stand on my feet again (technologically speaking).

This song is about Time and Change, tries to teleport the listener to a much more abstract cosmic-ish place.

Metamorfosis

Segunda parte de una melodía compuesta hace ya un par de años. Celebrando que pude recuperar en parte  las herramientas con las que solía divertirme creando secuencias alocadas. Pero también pensando en aquella estrella que en el firmamento entrega su existencia a brillar e iluminar el vacío. Con un telescopio en forma de notas y sonidos simples, te saludo y agradezco.

Tras el segundo día dedicado a la creatividad musical, surge esta breve melodía, la que en cierta medida retrata ese vaivén de pensamientos/sentimientos, dejando ese gusto de aventura frente a lo desconocido, como si de un mundo nuevo se tratase cuando te enfrentas a los de otra persona.

A veces vuelan, a veces caminan, se enredan, enlazan y juntos construyen nuevos caminos, abriéndose paso entre la neblina. En otras, colisionan reiteradamente, veloces y afilados.
Sin embargo, sea cual fuere la ocasión, emiten pequeños destellos lumínicos que enceguecen, que alimentan, llenando cada pequeño rincón, fomentando la creatividad e imaginación, fuentes de ingenua vitalidad.

After such a long time of neither playing music nor writing any melodies, today felt myself struck by a bit of inspiration and couldn't let it dwindle. As always, it's a short simple melody which I wrote/played/recorded in just a couple hours.

Reencuentro

Basándome en una maqueta homónima no terminada que escribí allá por el 2017, desempolvé en una reciente tarde de ocio toda la parafernalia que solía utilizar para este hobby. Entre instrumentos improvisados y artilugios diseñados para burlar la carencia de equipo y herramientas necesarias, es siempre entretenido echar a andar la imaginación y creatividad. Un nexo interesante que conecta lo meramente lúdico con aspectos más profundos, sensaciones, emociones, recuerdos, etc.

Pese a que todos estos sonidos estridentes son, en el fondo, fragmentos de amalgama de y para mi propio mundo, es siempre un placer y aprendizaje el conectar con cualquier persona que por aquí camine :)
