This is very much a mood song. Jackson Browne wrote "sometimes I lie awake at night and wonder where the years have gone". With me it's sitting in my music room with a glass of wine but the idea is similar. When I hear the song in my head it's backed by a sinth, but as I can't play keyboards, I've tried to create the feeling I want with the guitar.

Where to begin.... I got lucky, very lucky! I retired early and decided to record some songs I'd written years ago. I met Kel and not only did he agree to help me record the songs but he got involved in them and helped turn them into something I could never have imagined. I will be forever grateful for his help and friendship, not to mention his musical genius. But now Kel has moved away and I need find a new direction. Don't get me wrong, I dearly hope to work with Kel again, but in the meantime it's back to basics. I want to put down a raw version of my other songs which I intend to do 'as live' that is, one take - no editing, cut and paste, over-dub etc - and that's a bit scary! So please bear with me while i find my feet. First up, a new song written this last weekend. Now I wouldn't say that I obsess on my new songs [most psychiatrists would probably disagree :)] but I play them like a thousand times in the first week and always think it's my best work ever. So, constructive criticism welcome, even insults, but please don't ignore them....
