Here's my latest song i just got through mixing titled 'Missive'. It's an acoustic pop punk song I wrote about breaking free from the ways that women tend to want to try to lead me into their vague shadows of a hopeless courtship, but of course to no avail...haha....because I've already been there done that sweetie :) ......but the experiences makes for some good songwriting nonetheless

Missive (Saturday Night Punk Sessions) Acoustic Stings October 2014

I love Lights songwriting abilities, so I choose to acoustically cover this song by her for my debut night, I think I'll call 'Enlightening Thursday Strummers' .....haha....Just another idea of mine to keep me enjoying great music as often as possible while stoking my mind to keep playing and writing as much as I possibly can....I'm gonna type out the lyrics now. This is an acoustic cover tune that I captured on my GoPro camera then ripped the audio from the camera and reworked the audio a little bit with a vst called Breverb to enhance the quality of the track. This song was initially written by The Movement, and is off of their first studio album.

   Fragments of Effection is a one man journey through sound. Bryan Powell uses his instruments and resources at hand to express his daily ventures, worldly and unworldly encounters, and experiences in life as every passing day gives him new challenges.
 

    This is Bryan Powell here and I have a home studio I've built up here in Boiling Springs I refer to as Loadrop Productions. I'm a self taught and self educated musician. It has always be easier for me to learn things by trial and error versus the classroom setting. I don't really write music that relates to any one known genre preference, hence the name Fragments of Effection. I guess I just kind of write on, and work with what I'm feeling at the present time. Alot of my songs deal with relationship ordeals and dealing with people and situations.

     I do my recordings on my pc using Ableton 8 and plugging in through various mixing components and vsts to try and produce as quality of stuff as I can on such a low budget set up. With no real drummer, I manufacture beats with the software, gadgets, and experience at hand to imply a mediocre tempo and beat well enough to hold a few of my songs together. My influences are Punk Rock, Reggae, Hard Hitting Drum N Bass, and just about any sound found in everyday living, such as a hubcap popping off a tire and rolling by and pinging into a guardrail.
