Growing Season EP

Left Field is the first single from Nashville-based Country Music Artist and Professional Baseball Player Bryan Ruby. In 2021, Ruby became the only active professional baseball player to come out as gay at the time, and his story was featured on the front page of USA Today & in hundreds of media outlets around the world.

As a songwriter, Ruby has penned songs that have appeared on the Texas Country Top 50 chart and the iTunes Country Top 25, and songs he has written have been featured on both Huffington Post and People Magazine. As an artist, he won Season 7 of the talent-search competition Nashville Rising Song, and is preparing for the release of his upcoming debut EP due out in 2023.

Ruby's first single, Left Field, was featured on The TODAY Show and added to rotation on SiriusXM Country Pride, as well as the Academy of Country Music's Ultimate Pride Playlist. He is currently on a Stadium Tour singing the National Anthem and performing pregame and postgame concerts at ballparks around the country.

The Standouts (Heroes Version) feat. Ty Herndon

Centerfield is the newest single from trailblazing pro baseball player turned country artist Bryan Ruby. The single was released over all platforms on August 25, 2023.

“Centerfield” was originally released by John Fogerty, who also penned the song, in March 1985 as the B-side of “Rock and Roll Girls.” It was also the title track of Fogerty’s comeback album about a decade after leaving Creedence Clearwater Revival. A track that combined two of his passions, baseball and rock and roll, the song has been a fixture at baseball parks everywhere, played during team breaks and in between innings. Even the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York is known for playing it. The song also garnered a 1985 Grammy nomination for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.

Spending most of his life on baseball fields, Bryan Ruby wants fans to know he considers it an honor to record a cover of such a beloved song. A journeyman professional ballplayer who has heard “Centerfield” played in baseball parks worldwide for years, it’s no surprise that the song holds a lot of meaning to him personally.  

“This song is an all-time classic and a personal favorite of mine,” expressed Bryan Ruby.  “When I think of a ‘baseball song,’ I immediately think of ‘Centerfield.’ As the son of a lifelong baseball coach and a longtime player myself, this ballpark anthem has truly been the soundtrack of our lives. I’m proud to put my own personal spin on it. It’s already been a nonstop summer. I’ve been crisscrossing the country at stadiums big and small singing the “Star Spangled Banner,” “God Bless America,” and doing pregame and postgame ballpark shows. I wanted my version of ‘Centerfield’ to channel the energy and excitement we feel at the stadium every day. We bumped up the tempo compared to the original version, added a key change in the final chorus, and layered in a few extra guitars in order to really blow the roof off of it.

Centerfield

Small Town Christmas is the 2023 holiday duet from award-winning Illinois country band River Road Trio featuring up-and-coming Nashville Country artist Bryan Ruby. The single was released over all platforms on Friday November 24, 2023.

About The Artists: 

River Road Trio is an Illinois country band that formed in 2011. RRT consists of members Terry Carter, Jonelle Carter and Kyle Ripsch. Their musical style relies heavily on three-part vocal harmonies, with all three members alternating as lead vocalists, piano and guitar. 

River Road began playing cover shows locally in Illinois which eventually evolved into incorporating original music after the release of their first album Unloaded in 2017. Following Unloaded, singles I Still Do, This Town, Freedom Of Love and many more would land RRT on the airways and major TV networks such as NBC, FOX news Nebraska, Good Day Tulsa and  WGN Chicago to name a few. Around this same time the band started to play music across the united states while keeping a full time schedule locally as well. In 2019 the band would find success overseas when their song “Anymore” became a line dance hit in countries like France, Germany and Austria. In 2021 Anymore would go on to top the line dance charts in Austria staying in the number one slot for over two weeks. In early 2022 the band's single Freedom Of Love received a midwest country music awards nomination for video of the year. River Road Trio continues to wow audiences across the United States along with the Chicago area and Central Illinois.

Small Town Christmas

Goes Without Saying is the lead single off of Bryan Ruby's upcoming 2024 EP 'Found and Lost'. Coming off a selection as finalist for the 2023 John Lennon International Songwriting Prize, Ruby released Goes Without Saying on Valentine's Day (2/14/24), and performed it live for the first time in front of a packed audience at a special release show called 'Bryan Ruby's Broken Hearts Club' at The Lipstick Lounge in Nashville, TN.

“Goes Without Saying is a punch to the gut. It's real, it’s raw, it’s everything I just went through. Pain, loss, and heartache are all I have to give right now.” says Ruby.

Return A Ring

“My lover found another so now I’m the one who’s free” belts out Bryan Ruby in ‘Lost On Me’, a heartbreak jam about moving on, letting go, finding yourself and giving the middle finger to that toxic ex. Written alongside Grammy-Award winning Songwriter David Ritz (Sexual Healing, Marvin Gaye), the song mixes upbeat melodies and infectious energy with a self-reflective story of lost love, delivered on a dimly lit stage at a rundown bar called ‘The Broken Hearts Club’. 'Come Back - Acoustic' is vulnerable, it’s the moment you look a deep wound in the eye and say ‘no more’. It was an honor to join an actual real-life rockstar in the studio and make this new version come to life.

I went in the studio for a whirlwind acoustic session with Mumford & Sons banjo player Matt Menefee & producer David Axelrod to record this brand new acoustic version of ‘Come Back’.
