DC Salas is a Belgian DJ/producer hailing from Brussels. Active on the Belgian and European nightlife for 14 years now, as a DJ, DC crafted his sound into something pretty diverse: house, new beat, 90’s wrong speeder or percussive beats, no boundaries. As a producer he released music on labels such as: Correspondant, River Rapid, TAU, B-Pitch Control, Kill The DJ and his own imprint Biologic Records.

This weeks episode brings a return to our ‘Bside Incoming’ series, the worldwide mixtape series that brings you the best of the Bside from the record collections of our favourite selectors. We’re very excited about this one, our guests name literally translates from the Arabic for ‘The Home of Disco’, and its truly an impressive hour of feel good music from the Arab world and beyond: Dar Disku.

World selectors Vish and Mazen grew up in close proximity on the island of Bahrain. Currently based in Bristol the pair have brought the sunshine of their eastern influences with them to radio airwaves and dance floors across the UK. Their ever increasing prestige as purveyors of global sounds has allowed them to share turntables with Habibi Funk, Esa, Awesome Tapes from Africa, Worldwide Fm, and one of our past guests Nabihah Iqbal as part of her outstanding BBC Radio residency. Their Label is also gaining status, with their most recent release has been played out by the likes of Palms Trax, Hunee, and DJ Seinfeld. An exploration into the the back-catalogues, the deepest depths, the darkest crevices of their collections. Returning with the spoils of this venture: their most cherished records and hidden gems, from the go-to club weapons to the rarely heard home-listening records, and everything in between.

'By the early sixties, the song on the A-side was the 'hit' song that the record company wanted radio stations to play. The B-side would contain less radio friendly and less popular tracks. In our eyes the B-side is a true reflection of the producers taste in music, there is more personality on that side of the record'.
