VAPOUR is the debut album of producer and Trouw resident dj Patrice Bäumel, known for previous releases on Get Physical, Trapez, or !K7. It is the first release on Trouw, the label of Amsterdam's famous and identically named club. The label's focus will lie on challenging the status quo of today's electronic dance music and going beyond being yet another provider of dj-friendly musical fast food. The physical cd release will contain a guestlist invitation to a Trouw event of choice in order to give the listener the total experience.

In spirit, VAPOUR is 100% techno, a continuous act of finding and losing balance, a collision of contrasting elements - man vs machine. It tells this dark story without words, instead it creates a universe that only loosely relates to the outside world, full of conflict and suspense. Abstract rhythms and soundscapes form an almost otherworldy backdrop to measured emotional outbursts. "I want this record to stimulate the listener's imagination and leave room for him or her to fill in the blanks. Transparent, intangible, constantly moving. Hence the album title."

Bäumel's maiden album threads a fine line between club and living room. It is a timeless piece of listening techno, providing the kind of fluidity that works wonderfully on a car stereo, your iPod or in afterhour situations, with the odd dancefloor moment thrown in for good measure. André Obin is young and very talented producer and vocalist from Cambridge, Massachusetts. Having previously released on Ghostly International and Moodgadget he now sets out to conquer the old continent with his trademark indie/dance crossover sound. “Soft Rain” is pure 21st century pop music – strong on melody, song structure and with undeniable roots in today's club culture. It is this trademark sound that has earned Obin live appearances alongside likeminded musicians as M83, Matthew Dear or The Field.
The “Soft Rain” package is completed by remixes done by Trouw residents Melon and Patrice Bäumel. Melon turns the track into a muscular house monster while Bäumel delivers a shiny, hypnotic interpretation. André Obin himself slows things down and goes all shoegaze with his own epic Fascination Mix. 
Marking the second release on Trouw following Bäumel's debut album “Vapour”, “Soft Rain” demonstrates the musical openmindedness and playful approach that also characterises Trouw as a club. We are proud and happy to welcome a new promising artist to the family.

While Bäumel's “Vapour” album could best be described as headphone techno, the remix package is one for the DJ's. We specifically selected artists from different musical backgrounds to help introduce the label to a broader audience. All of them are connected to Trouw and close to our hearts. Family matters!

Joris Voorn needs little introduction, he is Trouw resident dj and one of the best known and most successful artists in the club scene, a hit machine with the midas touch. His interpretation of “Vapour” is one of his deeper productions of recent times but with that same irresistable drive and roof-raising capability that is so typically Joris. 

Petar Dundov has delivered a meandering monster of a mix – beautiful, mysterious and medieval like a dark and ancient fairytale. His ultrasparse use of percussion elements gives him that instantly recognisable sound that we all fell in love with when he graced Trouw with a live performance. 

Nuno Dos Santos is not only one of Trouw's most popular dj's but has put his name on the producer map in a big way with his debut album on Compost and his recent string of remixes. His interpretation of “Tactile” is probably the most modern and experimental mix out of the three.

Rekids welcomes back Tal Fussman with the I Feel EP, following up his 2024 Definition EP on Radio Slave’s label, which won support from the likes of Honey Dijon, Orlando Voorn, Yu Su, Saoirse, Dave Clarke, and more.

The Innvervisions, COD3QR artist and Survival Tactics label boss starts I Feel with the title track and, in true Fussman fashion, infuses drummy club cuts with plenty of feeling via soulful synths and apt vocal sampling.

The rolling organic percussion of MAD continues, locking us in the groove while hard-hitting stabs fly above before Bongo Man channels the lush sounds of the rainforest alongside more expert drum work.

Closing out the I Feel EP, Tal Fussman works with fellow producer 8-AN to drop the dream-like strings of Life Itself, another deep track that is as club-ready as it is introspective.

The new Intec release is from Frank Mitchell aka Frankie Bones who is an American based DJ and producer whose played a large role in New Yorks Techno scene. Having been involved in music since the mid 80s, Frankie Bones was one of the first DJs from New Yorks Brooklyn region to gain global success. By the late 80s Frankie Bones was getting regular European bookings following the success of his Bonesbreaks EP series, which released on Underworld Records received global recognition and critical acclaim. During his three decade spanning career Frankie Bones has even released an EP on the iconic Trax Records, which released many of the early records that defined the House and Techno genre. One of his most popular releases was his 1989 release titled Call It Techno which originally came out on Breaking Bones Records, and a firm Carl Cox favourite has now been remastered and rereleased for this special Intec package, which also features one of his new and previously unreleased tracks. Also featuring on the release are two new remix versions provided by Carlo Lio and Raito who each put their individual stamp on things. Carlo Lio is an artist who in between global DJ bookings, has released music on labels including Octopus, SCI+TEC, Turbo, Mood, and Saved Records. French artist Raito is fast rising through the ranks following regular releases Boysnoize Records, along with having also featured on Mako, Origami Sound, Main Course and BNR TRAX. "Call It Techno" has a timeless bass line taken straight from the glory days of Acid House. Filled with retro charm and warehouse party vibes, the vocal tells the story of Technos history, and the pads plus melody are rich in analogue joy. Carlo Lio's remix of "Call It Techno" uses choice snippets of the originals vocal to refine the story it into a powerful chant. This remix is fast and furious with added tension and suspense. Carlo adds his own toughened backing track thats filled with dark atmosphere plus an explosive drop after the main break. Raito's remix of has a bumping groove and stomping kick drum. Thick and chunky, it takes no prisoners with its hard hitting percussion and stabbing sounds. Jacking in every sense of the word, it's summed up nicely by the vocal lyrics "hits you in the face like a hammer! Second of the two original track is "Light It Up" which takes its title from the lyrics of the vocal sample. With spin backs and filter sweeps, the tracks forward momentum is accentuated by a series of bass drops. Lead by the building intensity of a bubbling acid line, the tracks rolling groove is a sure fire party starter. The fifth and final track is a dub mix of Light it up, which with the main vocal removed, focuses on the music only.

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell.

Intec's new release is from UMEK who is a Slovenian artist accredited with kick-starting the techno scene in his home country, before earning critical acclaim on a global scale when he first started his career in the 90s.

Having released on labels ranging from CLR and Novamute right through to Toolroom, in recent years UMEK's own imprint "1605" has also become a main outlet for his music.

People with a good knowledge of technos history will be more than aware of the impact of UMEKs classics tracks, such as his anthemic Gatex that came out only a few years before his first Intec release in 2005.

Having also collaborated with many influential figures such as Chris Liebing and Joey Beltram, this new solo EP is UMEKs third release on Intec.

Titled Percussionix the EP opens with (Mix 1) which centres around a thick set bassline cut with filter sweeps and full of menacing intent. Leading the track is a combination of tribal percussion loops, which provide the track's main driving force.

Track two is UMEKs alternative mix of Percussionix which titled (Mix 2) has a more refined sound with the raw edges of the percussion being rounded off to smooth the sound, and its bassline is left unfiltered so it becomes more of a gradual sweep that grows with building tension.
