For the 4th Early Sounds Recordings party we're happy to invite Zurich scene animators Lexx and Kejeblos (Phantom Island) together with DJ SCM, hosted as usual by Pellegrino 🎈

Lexx
 is  respected connoisseur DJ, earning a place among the clubbing greats in Switzerland.  
As an extension of this, he launched the Phantom Island label with his friends Kejeblos, Ron & Tobi in Zürich.
Storrer’s soaring house productions and edits have a distinct yearning for harmony. This is music with a certain quietude, a shimmering quality.
But Storrer’s peak-time sets in clubs are perhaps the most revealing. Cavorting between disco, dub, house and electro, he weaves intricate narratives that are full of surprises.

Kejeblos
 is a man of big taste. A man embracing the wide. Cleverly exhibiting Swiss Afro Boogie gems, Japanese minimal classics, Post-Bossa or subtle Chicago House, this DJ from Zurich could easily write a doctoral thesis about the art of record digging. A resident of Zurich’s club Zukunft and co-founder of Phantom Island Records, Kejeblos belongs to that invincible circle of friends, whose members CCO, Wavetest and Late Invitation are doing the wickedest Chicago House in Liechtenstein, sorry, Switzerland.

DJ SCM
Also known as Tony Pianola, he runs WATAJ Recordings where he releases his particular blend of italo-disco and organic house cuts with an original exotic flavour.
An Early Sounds friend and part of the Berlin family, From Palermo with love.

Pellegrino
Pellegrino is the man behind Early Sounds Recordings and Early Distro, from Naples to Berlin spreading mediterranean vibes. 🌋

Kevin Huizing AKA Budakid is a Berlin based music producer/dj. Coming from a very musical family, it was only a matter of time before young Budakid started playing an instrument of his own. As a drummer in a drum ensemble, the soon-to-be producer/dj got his first taste of beats and he wanted more. Having a good sense of rhythm helped him as a fledgling dj. Before long, Budakid landed his first residency in one of Utrecht’s most popular clubs. Although he wasn’t of legal age, several clubs asked him to perform and Budakid showed his promise by measuring up to peers twice his age.

But as it happens with a lot of dj’s, only dj’ing wasn’t enough for his own musical output. So Budakid sought out to prove his worth as a self-taught producer. Influenced by the likes of Joris Voorn, Stimming, Trentemøller and acts such as Massive Attack, Radiohead and Caribou, the Dutchman developed a very melodic style of his own. A typical Budakid song has floating melodies, the right set of chords and some strong, energetic vibes all mashed together. All this made him a crowd favorite at festivals like Tomorrowland, Fusion Festival, Sonar Festival, Feel Festival, Amsterdam Dance Event and SonneMondSterne and clubs such as Katerblau (DE), Sissyphos (DE), Watergate (DE), Cafe D’anvers (BE), Thuishaven (NL) and Melkweg (NL).

His music has been already supported by heavyweights such as Sasha, Joris Voorn, Guy J, Kölsch and Deadmau5. That’s something that didn’t happen overnight. Budakid’s tracks have been released on respected labels like Einmusika, Last Night On Earth, All Day I Dream, Get Physical and Audiomatique. Well-known blogs and magazines including Deep House Amsterdam, FAZE Magazine and VICE’s Thump are very enthusiastic about the producer’s tracks. So it’s safe to say Budakid isn’t just another kid on the block. Already regarded as a more than reliable producer/dj by his peers, nothing stands in the way of Budakid to become one of the greats.

Sonne, Strand und Meer Guest Mix #39 by Goos

In a very short span of time, Goos has risen to remarkable prominence as a promising artist. With a combination of steady, yet very well received gigs, Goos brings a distinctive energy to the floor. His sound ranges from intricate melodies to chunky basslines, often inspired by earthy tones from around the world.

Goos was born in Doha, Qatar to musically inclined parents who introduced him to rock music at a very young age. This early onset of music led to a gamut of musical influences in his life ranging from Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Pink Floyd. His deep-seated love for percussion instruments led Goos on a pursuit to learn the Mridangam. This subsequently enabled him to also take up drumming, giving him a well-rounded understanding of percussion. Goos discovered his passion for dance music through the unique sounds of Eric Prydz and Roger Sanchez.

Goos hosted his own showcase at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) in 2018 titled Journey on Tour presenting artists from around the world. Goos has played alongside international artists such as Julian Jeweil, Olivier Giacomotto, Lane 8, Yotto, Ben Bohmer, Dee Montero, Tinlicker, Kora, Theo Kottis, Eelke Kleijn, Sebastien Leger, Joseph Ashworth, Roger Martinez, Dousk, Roger Sanchez, Kid Crème and Funkagenda to name a few. Goos has also played at the Satellite Beachside festival in Goa, Go:Madras in Chennai alongside many local acts apart from artists from the Anjunadeep roster.He has also played alongside Indian heavy weights like Arjun Vagale, Tuhin Mehta, Nikhil Chinapa, Rohit Barker, BrownCoat and more.

Today we’re all super hyped for for Lente Kabinet this weekend so to get us even more excited we’ve got Job Jobse making his entry to the series. He will play a closing set at the festival and as resident at De School is a master for serving up the perfect record at the perfect time. Initially a slow burner, he’s long been loved by Amsterdam locals for his richly melodic take on house, techno, Italo and disco, and himself is happy to call it trance. 

It’s certainly a spell being and emotional style that characterises his work here. With something of an old school slant, there are stiff vocal cuts and robotic grooves that slowly loosen up and turn to more hands in the air and zoned out fair before getting more sci-fi and occult later on. As ever with Jobse, it’s feel good and fun without being obvious.

After 3 solid days of building up LOBO to be ready for this Monday(the 1st day of Afrikaburn)and steering him into position in front of his new-found lover LUPIS (for the 1st time), i was energetically depleted before playing this set. I don't know how i managed it, but it was tough getting through these 2hours with my body and spirit not in sync with my music. However i put these tracks together with consideration for this moment in the context of the week ahead of us, and i hope that spirit carries through as you listen to this Monday mix ...

I was 'egged-on' by Kevin Dean and Ruud Kalis sitting behind me - which i loved, and as always - energized by the beautiful Anna-Aurelia and a flock of luminescent beings in front of me . With our flames in-operational on Monday only those who literally bumped into LOBO discovered this dance-floor ... really giving me the feeling of immediacy!!

Hello friends! 
We started the summer season on the beautiful rooftop of Kleingarten, Istanbul. It was the grand opening of the year so it was very crowded and super fun to play!

This was our first hybrid set in a loooong time (since 2016 actually) and a challenging experience but in the end it was a rewarding one. We're grateful for everyone who got in the mood with us, danced, and shared joy! 

Many thanks to the original artists who inspired us to play guitar, synths and various samples on top of their wonderful craft. 
And of course thanks to the Klein and Kleingarten teams who made this happen in the best possible way!
