I am continuing my latest series (inaugured last month with the ‘Love You To’ edit) of remixes of pre-electronic rock songs I used to obsess on. This time, we feature 'The Weapon' from Rush 1982 album Signals.

Second to the Beatles only in my musical pantheon stands the (less famous) Canadian band Rush, best known for its progressive and experimental era in the 70s. Conversely, "The Weapon" showcases their shift towards their more new wave, synthesizer-driven sound of the 80s, and that happened to make great base material for a dark disco beat with a cosmic break middle section and powerful drops.
