They give a lot of trouble to the cowboys who herd them since they are constantly wandering away looking for their lost mothers. I've been singing this song since I was a small child.

A song about a famous cutting horse from World Champion cowboy Bob Crosby's Cross B Ranch near Roswell, New Mexico. The Cross B was famous for cutting horses. The song was written by the Cross B's Top Kick, Ray Reed, who, besides being a world class cowboy, was also a world class songwriter.
