LPU 13.0

I personally love how this one builds, and I absolutely LOVE the simple bridge idea they made, after the bridge the song gets a bit boring, playing the same thing over again, I would of loved for distorted guitars to come in and finish it off before the outro. This is a really moody instrumental. Pretty great intro to the album.

Basquiat (2007)

This is a strange demo, supposedly it's a Lost In The Echo demo, but I'm hearing more of a Iridescent vibe going on, especially with the guitar parts. The synth does remind me of LITE, but it's not as noticeable. It's a good, somewhat upbeat demo.

Holding Company (2011)

Awesome demo of "I'll Be Gone".. kind of. I personally think it drags on too long, and becomes boring, but the beginning up until the arpeggio part is awesome. I prefer Chester's vocals/lyrics on the chorus on this, as well with the chorus progression; less generic, but the way they doubled Mike and Chester's singing in the verses sounds crappy and stupid.. It's nice to have these to see how far the songs we hear on their studio albums get built.

Primo (2010)

Not really a fan , kind of boring. This song was for Lupe Fiasco, so it may sound familiar to some of you. It's too boring without vocals. It does, however have a cool tension with the guitars playing.

Universe (2006)

Mostly the intro of Until It Breaks, just stripped down and with a few differences. It's kind of boring,  because we've heard most of the song with Living Things. After 1:16 things just get weird, lmao.

Apaches (Until It Breaks #1)

I prefer this part of Until It Breaks in the actual song, with the guitar and the drums, but the vocals in the first verse in this demo are stupid to me. It sounds like he's just trying to freestyle to me. After that, it's nothing new, just nothing bad either. Decent.

Foot Patrol (Until It Breaks #2)

A really cool acoustic track, and Brad does pretty cool vocals. I wish it was longer. All three UIB demos were basically morphed together for the final album version, it's cool how they came up with the whole structure.

Three Band Terror (Until It Breaks #3)

Pretty cool original song, very VERY good ambiance and use of sound effects, although the verse drum pattern is nothing more than a dubstep-ish beat with a more rock vibe (so boring), the chorus is pretty awesome, nice choice of chords and octaves, not too repetitive, either. I prefer this over the Beta State song. this one somewhat fits the album, except for the guitar tones and the generic sound of the drums. Throw LP on this song and it would be perfect. I'm glad he was one of the finalists.

Truth Inside A Lie (LPU Sessions, By: Ryan Giles)

Okay, here's my rant.. LP and Beta State have a history before the LPU Sessions contest. Basically, Beta bribed Mike by giving him an iPod Touch full of Beta's songs, this was a couple of years ago. Who knows what they did after they gave Mike their info and music, I think it was rigged. My opinion, oh well. This song literally just doesn't fit, at all, no LP album has this type of music. This sounds like My Chemical Romance or something. It isn't a bad song, at all.. AT ALL, just doesn't fit. At least the other winner's song has a bit of a MTM/Meteora style going for it. My non biased review: It's pretty good., a bit generic in parts, but alright.
