Also referenced to as “The Romanian House Groover” or “gangsta groove”, Puxumos lived music all his life and is abundantly but methodically enriching the Romanian music heritage with inspiring creations. 
Over 30 digital releases, 2 life-changing EPs on vinyl in 2016 and a collab with Poiana Negri are just the published part of his discography – the unpublished is the abundance creating the unique djing experience that he delivers flawlessly in Romanian’s side of Moldova – based in the cultural capital Iasi, he is part of the East Side Zebra Rec talent crew.

Originally spreading his electronic wings from Bucharest’s notorious Tei neighborhood, our next guest in Underdogs series is currently based in Copenhagen, DK being a multivalent figure in electronic music scene for more than a decade.

A genuine 360° club culture literate, Alin was involved in Culture Box project from Copenhagen since 2015 taking various roles throughout the time but also taking the decks at various venues like Råhuset, Hatten Bar, Jolene, Under Bron in Stockholm and also other gigs in France, Sweden, Germany, Romania sharing decks with big names like Edward, Andrea Ferlin, Zip, Barac, Priku, Steve O'Sullivan, Martinez, Spacetravel.

Past period he devoted his time to Kune Festival in Copenhagen - a festival he founded, taking place in an insane fort island just close to Copenhagen that has the mission to gather a team of seemingly different people, culturally and ideologically, coming together, united around music, with the intention of creating a space for others to explore and experience, a space which would add value to people's lives through its vision; harvesting Scandinavian underground scene since 2015.

We’re kicking off 2022 with some serious business, showcasing one of Bucharest most promising talents: Iunie, formerly known as Dina aka “the devil in disguise”. 

Starting his musical career in 2009, Iunie earned his place in the Romanian’s capital underground hall of fame by playing in various venues of the golden age – Galeria IX, Papiota, Mansarda, Printre Copaci, Fat Cat, even a residency at the infamous Traian 42 from 2013 to 2014 with an unearthly appetite for never-ending  after-hours. Being a constant figure in the scene, past period brought him in the booth of main music spots in Bucharest – Club Eden, Club Control, Gradina Monteoru, The Ark, Urbanist and Kran with occasionally internationally appearances in Verona, Italy for Veniceberg.

Music production activity went hand by hand with djing starting with 2009 - he is heading the MirrorMirror label since 2019 with various releases under Iunie identity at labels such Veniceberg, Enrico Mantini’s Purism with Sander Baan, Sleep is Commercial’s sub-label What Now Becomes, Questionmark Records, ODT.

UNDERDOGS X 7: Iunie

Now that new year mist is almost out, we are excited to present our next podcast that rallies the cult music ideology for a proper 2022 beginning: Ygor.

Mastermind behind this madness comes from the heart of the Moldavian hills – Chisinau. Active practitioner of the mystical art of music since 2010, Igor has been a strong pillar of the local underground scene in Moldova; he is one of the co-founders of SOLAR events, one of the biggest and most active promoters in Moldova that introduced artists like Bruno Pronsato, dj Dustin, Konstantin, Cosmjn, Jay Bliss, Silat Beksi, dr. Nojoke, Clovis and Alex Troubetzkoy to the Moldavian audience. In a deep spiritual way, he connected all the loving creatures from around in 2021 and crafted one of the few alternative festivals in Moldova – United Arts Festival, a 3 days festival with 3 music scenes, art gallery and spirituality workshops. 

First contact with Romanian scene was in 2014 playing at Waha Festival, where he was invited until 2019; Dakini, Tete-a-Tete Herastrau, Cooperativa, Inside Bar Busteni, a big variety of private and public events than followed in Bucharest, Brasov, Piatra Neamt, Iasi etc.

Production-wise is more reserved and likes to smash your imagination at an event without knowing what hit. Groove.ro, Conceptual Records are a few labels that showcased his creations – his latest release is featured on WHAT NOW BECOMES, a sub-label of the infamous Sleep is Commercial.

From the bass guitar to the drum machine. From psychedelic rock to deep electronica. The path of Lebanese-born, Spain-based producer Albert Azar is one of translation.

He translates the mind-altering moods of his influences into precise, atmospheric techno. His tracks are exercises in tension and release—where immersive textures meet undeniable drive, and intimate emotions are woven into expansive sonic landscapes. This isn't just music for the floor; it's a space to get lost in.

Born in Piatra Neamt - Romania, Georgian discovered the electronic music at the age of 14 facing the audience one year later.
Keeping a low-profile, Gri focused over the years on productions with numerous releases on labels like Mulen Records, Act-Fact Records, Tzinah Records, Mood 24 Records, Inwave Imprint, Sakadat Records and many more.
A very special person for us, Georgian was also involved in the development of Bucuresti Underground concept at its early times.
Moved to London for some years now, Gri tells the romanian electronic story in the british cultural hub alongside Gabriel Chiper and Dragos Ungureanu, his fellow artists.

With a very original style, Gri was influenced by the works of Ricardo Villalobos, RPR, Ion Ludwig and glides from minimal to techno with a lot of positive tunes but we will let his podcast impress you as we are sure it will.

Christopher Ledger’s close to perfection sound acts as a hook for all refined ears of the underground electronic music. 
The multidisciplinary artist’s background runs deep: his technical skills are built on classical composition study and his artistic calling can be felt in the mesmerizing emotional touch that can be felt throughout explorations. “Lost With K” sky-rocketed his name to fame and Christopher quickly started a solid foundation in the scene by launching his own label, “CL Series”, as well as other collaborations for Animae LTD -  Clouds/Anastrofe and soon to be Metonimia with Teluric at Mayak.

Mariin’s music can be described as a steady increase in intensity, with disciplined, sometimes heavy beats that lead us to a much-anticipated climax. This authentic Romanian minimal representative began producing about 6 years ago and released tracks on Delooped, Undefined, Gua Limited and others; one of the most recent release marks also the debut of a mysterious label, Microform, with two strong dark tracks and a Mihigh remix. His energy fueled performances are always a pleasure to attend and he’s already made an impression behind the decks in Moscow with a regular frequency, London and of course in the recognized Romanian underground locations.

Originally from Saint Petersburg and currently based in Moscow, Saksonov Vladimir and Kondraschenko Denis are forming this blazing duo. Crafted between the Saint Petersburg and Moscow clubbing scene, the Adjustment Bureau act was present in most of the notable happenings, being a regular in Rodnya Studio, Mosaique, Gazgolder, Dissident, Château de Fantomas and the electronic chosen voice of Meduza, the Volks, RTS.FM, Antrakt and many more valuable projects.

Epine Vinette EP released on Hypertone was an important milestone in their production journey, soon followed by remarcable releases on Pleasure Zone, Bodyparts, Heisenberg, Metroline, Dilated, Only Material Matters labels.

Born in Nice, French Riviera 3 decades ago, Vendi is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist in a constant cultural evolution.

From a very young age, Ludovic started playing several acoustic instruments like guitar, piano, bass, hand and drums that evolved in him playing in a rock band and eventually in electronic music. 

A current resident of Berlin where also his studio is, Vendi is producing for more than 12 years and always kept a low-profile attitude although he has been playing in renowned clubs from Berlin, all-over Europe and America, between Moscow and a regular figure in Bucharest's Club Eden.

Going deeper into Bucharest underground scene, we are delighted to present G76 in our next podcast episode. 

With more than 10 years experience, Florin Gojnea by his real name has always been a low-profile artist, avoiding the spotlight but shining through his productions or behind the decks. 

In 2015 he launched his first album “Desert Bucharest Vol. 1” in a truly authentic and independent way, making a solid mark in the alternative scene.
After breaking the ice in 2015 with the personal project, Florin started to share with the world also other projects and released on Apotek, Midi Records Romania, Anbu Music, Rituale, HPLS Records, Nervmusic Records, Tablon and publicly exposed his collaboration with great artists such Denis Kaznacheev, Laurine Frost, Mihigh, Zefzeed, Federico Molinari and Pandilla Ltd. 

His excellent mixing techniques made G76 a regular in Club Midi, Mioritmic Festival and lately Electric Castle but also took him also in front of Russian crowd for the infamous ARMA17 in Brave 2017, in London for Cymatic or Israel for The Block.

Being devoted to the underground movement, Raha is the rare breed of people acting as a cultural catalyst around the world; with a street dancing background, Raha started in 2008 his dj carrer in Japan. A formed dancer turned dj and passionate about Romanian minimal culture.

He gave the scene of Japan a big shock and as well the Romanian scene with his invitations like RPR crew artists, Rhadoo and Petre Inspirescu to Japan for his project “Beat In Me” that has grown into one of Tokyo’s most successful parties, one of the very few that continues to stay faithful to the underground.

His work always focuses on the groove and the dancefloor, which has earned him a huge following of both casual listeners, as well as real clubbers with highly trained ears and senses.

Raha is certainly one of the few key global artists in Japan worth keeping a sharp eye on from this point forward. Romanian crowd had the privilege to listen to his music in Club Eden, Guesthouse, 3 Smoked Olives festival, Gazette 12y anniversary this month and he was also confirmed in the magical Waha Festival this summer.

We have the honest privilege to present to you a very special set, a 4 hours recording of the opening set before Rhadoo in the “Beat In Me” event from Tokyo on the 10th of February earlier this year, marking also Raha’s birthday.

Cosmin Dumitru by his real name, is born in eastern talent pool Braila and currently living in Bucharest. Quite a discrete figure in the scene, he shared his music with the crowd in various independent projects with fellow Clep and lovely Miss I; big vinyl junkie, he had numerous appearances in Misbits Record Shop clashes.

Coming to speak about Misbits, he is also co-creator and curator in Misbits Recordings with Ioana Parlog, an exquisite label “drawing its energies from nature’s unspoiled soundscapes.” 

In more recent projects he developed with Alexandru Mitroi an experimental, ambient act – Bogus. Cosmin contributes in the performance with electronica of drum machines, synths, keyboards, effects and samples from field recordings while Alexandru plays the electronic guitar altered with various effects, all morphing into atmospheric rhythms and effects. 

We had the inspiration to record Momentdat’s set from “Bucuresti Underground meets friends” event that took place on 24.04.2019 in Control Club.

“I felt very honoured to be invited to Waha again after a two year break. I would like to say thanks to Tudor and Monica and the whole crew. I was so overwhelmed by the reaction of the audience, just fantastic. Thanks to everybody, who was there, danced and shared these moments. Thanks to Bucuresti Underground to give me the possibility to share it again with you I hope this one feeds your memory again with all the love and peace we all felt at Waha. 

As you can hear my performance has some quite controversial moments like in the beginning, a recording I did on a protest march in Berlin, a moment, when the situation was escalating nearly. I mean we should not take love and peace for granted or democracy or life at all. We sometimes have to fight for our ideals and values, for equal rights, for freedom, for tolerance, for others or for nature and definitely we have to fight against fascism, racism, oppression, exploitation and so on. This all is very important for me and this is also a part of my music. Waha 2019 was such a great experience for me. I received so much love and all you gave me so much motivation to continue what I do. Thanks you very much!

Ștefan Baghiu s-a născut în 1992 la Piatra Neamț. În ultimul deceniu a fost unul dintre cei mai incisivi critici literari din lumea literară românească, scriind articole și recenzii constant în revista Cultura din București. În 2013 a debutat în poezie la editura Cartea Românească cu volumul de „Spre Sud, la Lăceni”, pentru care a primit câteva premii importante și a călătorit la festivaluri literare importante din Europa.

A început să facă muzică în liceu într-o trupă rock experimentală (2007) și a continuat apoi un proiect solo de muzică electronică (2011), proiect pe care l-a livrat sub numele volumului „Spre Sud, la Lăceni”, din care se mai păstrează câteva piese astăzi. În ultimii ani a început să pună muzică, fie în combinație cu poezie la festivaluri ca Amural alături de Alex Văsieș, fie doar ca dj sets în câteva din cluburile de muzică electronică din Cluj-Napoca și Sibiu. Pentru producțiile proprii utilizează Garage Band și Ableton, alături de instrumente externe și înregistrări proprii – deseori fragmente de poeme.

Nu este atât de interesat de perfecționarea tehnică, cât de atmosfera pieselor și de creativitatea componistică. Muzicienii desăvârșiți sunt, în viziunea lui, Brian Eno și Four Tet. Poetul desăvârșit, Allen Ginsberg. Lucrează la un album pentru 2020 care să combine muzica electronică cu poezia românească din ultimele două decenii, mai ales din zonele ei minimaliste și anarhiste.
Până atunci își lansează EP-ul de debut în luna noiembrie.

În viața de zi cu zi este asistent universitar la Litere în Sibiu, unde predă teorie literară și literatură română. Călătorește frecvent la conferințe academice în SUA și Europa și publică articole academice. Coordonează, împreună cu Vlad Pojoga, Z9Hub și pune osul la Z9Festival din Sibiu, cam cel mai mișto festival internațional de poezie tânără din țară.

Talking about undiscovered talents, you should really keep an eye on these guys as they are going make a difference really soon in the scene. 

Growing as electronic music passionates, developing their production skills with a lot of hard work in their home studios or practicing mixing techniques in wild private parties, these guys have been seeing, dreaming, eating and breathing music in the past years. 

Recognition soon took its place, a lot of their productions being played by first class artists in big festivals or events and booking requests came in individual projects from Sweden, Switzerland or Tunisia.

As art calls for art, they were invited also to perform a hybrid experimental act within the opening event of the exhibition 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 from MARe/Muzeul de Artă Recentă in Bucharest in the auditorium on the 25th of September, current year.

Saša was born and raised in Munich but his roots are from Bosnia & Herzegovina, while the diverse and bursting music scene lured him to Berlin. 

A regular in Minimal Bar from Friedrichshain or long sessions in the iconic Club der Visionäre with the SIC crew, Sasa is a restless presence in Berlin’s underground scene. His style has been influenced by the music of Andrea Ferlin and the Berlin-based label Sleep is Commercial, where he is now a member and supporting the label from the background.

Episode 14 of the series embodies Mera. 

Born in the heart of Romania – Brasov, acting as a dj, producer and partyhead curator at one of the most active names in hometown music scene – Unum. 

By his real name Christian Mera, he started growing on music at early age influenced by his father, a local Dj in his youth. Carefully crafting his production style for more than 3 years, he is co-creating with Mihai Pol and Jay Bliss.

BUCUR014: MERA

The next installment of the underdogs showcase is hosted by one of L.A.’s most active figure in the electronic music scene – Enzo Muro.

First taste of electronic music began during the late 90’s in his hometown Lima, Peru and quickly escalated in an avid partygoer and music enthusiast. Moving in Los Angeles – USA in 2004, he quickly started building community with a vibrant restlessness, being present in every boutique event private or public, dropping records around L.A., Mexico & Peru.

Constant advocate for electronic music, Enzo is also a common voice in the radio segment – California liaison for Bamboocha Radio out of Lima, Electronic Groove team based out of Miami where he currently resides curating Electronic Groove's LA Underground Sessions, a weekly live streaming which expose most of the local talent from the city of Angels.

“The amount of music that Enzo has been exposed to, on his radio show, live streaming or out and about at every show in LA, gives him a broad and tasteful style of music when he djs. One has to step out of the box to acquire such a taste in music. Enzo has played at Lightning in a Bottle and Desert Hearts, two hugely popular campout festivals in California, also played at Burning Man a few years; and has opened for djs such as Thomas Melchior, Barac, FunkE, Vinyl Speed Adjust, Afriqua, Sedee, Nils Weimann, Sepp & Nu Zau, tINI & Bill Patrick, to name a few. Enzo is a resident of Dialogue, one of the most exclusive underground parties in LA and also co-founder of a new party called YOUKNOWWHAT. He also had residencies at The Standard rooftop in downtown Los Angeles, Clinic & La Vibe, a weekly nights dance party in Hollywood; and a fixture at Pattern Bar, a popular dimly lit cocktail lounge in DTLA he hosted a monthly party with Electronic Groove called B.LØW.” Enzo Muro

UNDERDOGS X 3: ENZO MURO

Forged out of the lands in Constanta county, Fein___ by his superhero name occupies the next chapter of the Underdogs series.

Worshiping the one true god, Ricardo Villalobos, he committed his life to bear on his legacy in exploring the dark, experimental realm of minimal music. 
Spending his childhood in the plains of Sunwaves Festival, he grew up with the Romanian sound being inspired by the local heroes, but ending up in creating a unique style in productions and behind the decks. 

Part of the underground movement of Constanta, he is one of the founders of Telega Recordings in the pursuit of creating an exclusive group of producers that can co-create, explore together and showcase live performances in peculiar variations. 
Teamed-up with Dragomir – also for the Sample&Hold live act, Horatiu, Individ, Pitchu, No haw and last but not least – the infamous HRMS, for a various number of closed circle events. Fein is part of the Romanian new wave of electronic music artists, with an impressive energy, passion and talent. 

Most of the tracks in the set are own creations and collaborations with Telega Recordings crew. There is salvation only for the brave.

UNDERDOGS X 4: Fein___

Underdogs 5th installment warps to Tunisian underground scene and projects an artist that is commonly found in the after-hours library of appreciated Romanian or international artists: ROOT.

Experimenting a deep back-grounded unique frequencies, Cesar was first initiated to the electronic music in his birthplace Gafsa, in North Africa, through the repetitive percussion of the groovy native drummers in Tunisian streets and Sahara’s desert, added with the analogue gears and racks from Detroit to Berghain. His dynamic style glides effortlessly between the experimental and groovy four to the floor sound perspectives, continues to take him around the world leaving a touch of his magic in every booth he steps into.

ROOT’s productions were widely published on digital releases as on vinyl; recently heading Romanian’s label Aforisme latest release – Cezariad EP, Cesar has also planned for 2020 a double vinyl release on The Aviary Records. This episode’s artist in its musical professional career is also behind numerous releases in terms of mastering.

The podcast was entirely made of own productions and collaborations with artists like Paul K, Nunes & Sumrak during 2020’s July-September period and it creates the perfect environment for a legendary after-hours.
