Future Chroma is an ambient duo of Stiletti-Ana and Casio G Url. They both have been playing music since they were kids and they both have always liked to create their own music instead of playing what others have composed. The duo met in 2018 when Casio G Url needed to buy a new synthesizer and couldn't decide which model to get. She came over to Stiletti-Ana's studio to try out a bunch of different synths to help her hard decision. That night they had a long jam and realized that they share a similar mind in music. The tape recorder was wired in and they recorded the basis of their first EP that was released in 2019 on Haista records.
Instead of hiding themselves and their music behind some mystic otherworldly figures, Stiletti-Ana and Casio G Url are just purely enthusiastic about playing their synthesizers and instruments and making music that they like. It's a cliché when a musician says that there was no producer or music industry head telling what to do, but honestly that never even came into Stiletti-Ana's or Casio G Url's mind that there could be someone telling them what to do to succeed. Future Chroma is doing only what they like and what they like the most are heavenly arpeggios, lovely melodies and super cosmic sounds.
In late 2019 Future Chroma packed their Nissan Micra full of equipment and drove to their secret hideout studio in the middle of Southern Finland forests. They had another really long jam and they recorded everything. Out of those sessions came the basis of their debut album called I. Finalizing a timeless piece of synthesizer music took longer than they expected and now finally 15.5.2023 the album sees the daylight. Their main influences on the record are Berlin School ambient and records made by pioneers of cosmic and electronic music such as Tangerine Dream, Suzanne Ciani, Pauline Oliveros and Laurie Spiegel just to name a few.
But their debut doesn't sound like anything out there, because it's Future Chroma's music and it's really good!

We are so happy to unveil the 3rd EP of RBR, this time by a close member of the reptilian family, known as https://soundcloud.com/meo-sound. The creative spirit of Meo has been exploring many fields such as engineering, coding, drawing, furniture building... and one of these self-taught disciplines is music and sound design. Skilled as a keyboardist, he likes to build his rhythmics, textures & melodies with analog synths & samplers such as the Elektron or the most compact PO33, playing around with many genres from breakbeat to house, trip hop and ambient.

The EP SNK Operator is the happy musical outcome of a sound design project around a video game close to the famous "Snake" we used to play on our nokias. The search for experimental textures made Meo start a live project on his samplers and experiment musically. Essenka is an ambient take off to uptempo-yet-contemplative-yet-quirky breaks, impossible frequencies and well designed surprises melting your brain. Phuket Operator is an almost childish piece, having fun with a disco-ish beat and rough changes, a poppers-infused raw beat for a warm morning dance. Panatea is a progressive downtempo exploration and Bolduc an hommage to Meo's love for cosmic & dub techno, minimal & breakbeat.

For Breathing Room’s sophomore release, the Toronto based label look to Swiss multi-instrumentalist Bixi to supply the goods. The German producer exudes warm and tropical vibes across the five track vinyl release entitled ‘Aquarius’. Rich in deft live instrumentation and clever sample work, an organic feel flutters through each track with bubbling water, forest-inspired atmosphere, ethnic percussion and gentle handclaps the order of the day. Once again the release is presented with beautiful artwork by 3D and visual artist Maks Pihs. Definitely a label to keep an eye on.

PREMIERE: Bixi - Bicho De Pé [Breathing Room Records]

The sun had begun to set over the golden sands, painting the sky's canvas with bright shades of reds and burnt orange. As far as the eye could see clusters of trees bordered the river bank, enclosing the water's mighty current as it swept up leaves and pieces of debris in its path. But further down the bank, the waters were calm and inviting. People from the local towns and villages had all come to bathe together before sunset and usher the night in as one. As the glowing sun took its leave once more, everybody raised a hand in unison and waved their goodbyes.

Under his Wolf Müller guise, Jan Schulte has collaborated on a new EP with Egyptian and Kenyan musicians as part of a project run by arts and music organisation, Santuri East Africa. The Salon Des Amateurs resident matches his signature percussive production with the talents of collaborators Rapasa Nyatrapasa, Kasiva Mutua and Adel Mekha, with the results getting a release on Nouvelle Ambiance.
