The third episode of the microcastle podcast welcomes label artist Khen. The Israeli producer is coming off the release of his first original project for us entitled 'Pollen Spreader'. Released earlier this month, the four track EP featured a Luca Bacchetti remix and was a huge success; reaching #10 in the Beatport overall Top 100,  #2 in both Electronica and Progressive House, and #4 in Techno. For the third edition of our podcast we've chosen a live set of Khen's recorded from his first gig at Bahrein, Buenos Aires in October of this year. It was a momentous occasion for the young Israeli artist and one which left lasting memories for his Argentinean fans. Over four magical hours he worked through an effortless flow of rugged beats, deep grooves and poignant melodies. His much loved 'Secret Shining' and 'Sunflakes', along with several unreleased gems touched the hearts and minds of all who attended that night.  Khen's approach to DJing in a way mirrors his most loved production hallmarks, where there's a compelling story unfolding at each and every moment, ultimately building to something truly special. It's certainly not a common trait amongst today's DJs and just one of many things which sets him apart from the pack. It makes each and every set a special experience just like this one here. The fifth episode of the microcastle podcast welcomes label artists Chicola & Sahar Z. The Israeli duo have been at the heart of Tel Aviv's electronic music culture for the last 20 years. A collective discography including Bedrock, Lost & Found, Suara and Sudbeat, along with an increasingly busy gig schedule have made Chicola and Sahar two of the underground's most sought after talents. Their recently released 'It Happened One Night EP' enjoyed great success, earning support and play from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Sasha, Stephan Bodzin, Maceo Plex,  Agents of Time, Pig & Dan, Furcoat and more. The release went on to reach the #1 position in Beatport's electronica chart for six consecutive days, also reaching #6 in the overall Top 100 and #3 and #2 in Techno and Progressive House respectively. 

The art of music programming is somewhat lost in today's younger generation of DJs. Growing up and opening for Danny Tenaglia, Sasha, John Digweed, Laurent Garnier and Carl Craig has instilled this art form in the duos blood. It's something that in over two decades of DJing has remained a huge proponent of their sets. One where each and every gig is an unforgettable journey with electric vibes and captivating sound stories. Although not normally performing together, Chicola and Sahar have prepared a special 80 minute mix for their microcastle podcast. Beginning with an exclusive and unreleased intro version of the duo's 'It Happened One Night', the mix methodically works its way through deep grooves and warm ambient textures, ultimately building to more distinct motifs and melodious techno, before an emotive finale takes you home. Highlighting the mix are several unreleased projects along with a few selections from their recently released EP and a few surprises as well. It's a journey you're going to continually discover new things about, so we suggest just sitting back and getting lost in the music. Enjoy!

This past July, Henry Saiz (@henry-saiz) and Edu Imbernon (@imbernonmusic) performed in The Kings Hall at Avant Gardner and we recorded their incredible b2b set. In this edition of Live @ Cityfox, we hear a blend of uniquely mixed, sustainable house grooves woven about cinematic hues—grand, evocative of differing moods, which sound harmoniously synergistic, against Imbernon’s energetic, worldly harmonies and ethereal vibes.

Since 2006, Madrid-based Henry Saiz continues to release and design music that aims to connect and to explain both art and life. Saiz’ work as a sound designer structurally informs his DJ and production work, while his untamed imagination fuels his creative flare throughout all of his work. It is this approach that makes his sound some of the most diverse and genre-bending in house music today. He founded the Natura Sonoris label in 2009, which was recognized and lauded as the best of the year by DJ Mag Spain. However one imprint wasn't enough: 2017 saw the advent of his Lost Worlds Records, on which he debuted ‘Calor’, a record from his alter-ego, Hal Incandenza. His first album as Hal Incandenza is a foray into dancey synth-pop that exhibits Saiz' versatility. The following year, Saiz evolved yet again to release Human under the alias Henry Saiz & Band, taking the synth-pop sounds of Calor and adding more intense, cinematic hues, with a strong spotlight on vocals and lyrics not heard in any of his prior EPs.

Edu Imbernon burst on to the scene in 2009 with an infectious worldly house music track co-produced by Coyu entitled “El baile alemán” (Liebe Detail, 2009), and seizing the attention of the community winning “Best Underground Track of the Year” by Beatport. He cemented his presence a year later, releasing a remix of The XX's ‘Crystalised,’ using the momentum to then start the label, party, and brand Fayer in 2012. It reflects Imbernon's music, bridging the gap between indie and electronica melodies with house and techno structure and beats. Over the past decade, his signature sound is encapsulated by the imprint: favored by partygoers from his hometown of Valencia, to the world. He's curated and remixed music from the likes of Adriatique, Maya Jane Coles, WhoMadeWho, Jonas Rathsman, and Patrice Baumel.

Since they’re both mainstays at clubs and festivals the world over, from Glastonbury to Creamfields, Sonar and Ultra, it's an absolute delight to have hosted these two for an especially uplifting travel soundscape journey on this Foxcast.
