Chapultepec (“grasshopper hill” in Nahuatl) has been a vital part of Mexico City for almost 600 years. A hydraulic marvel designed by the texcocan Tlatoani Nezahualcóyotl to work as a lung in one of the biggest cities on the planet. 

Throughout 19 tracks Lao explores the imaginative and timeless possibilities of Chapultepec in the form of deep melodies, organic textures, and tribal percussive patterns influenced by Jungle and Rave. The album is a homage to CDMX, the Mexican electronic music scene, and its dancefloor for the last 15 years.

Grid is happy to release a summer anthem, the undeniable dancefloor filler ‘Dance Hall Again’, which sees lauded UK bass veterans DJ Polo & Breaka teaming up with the man, the legend Swordman Kitala !

DJ Polo and Breaka link up on production duties, crafting a perfectly executed Amapiano and Dancehall infused riddim. This bass-bin rattling production creates the ideal balance of dancefloor potency and an open canvas for Swordman Kitala’s killer vocal stylings to float on top with ease. Kitala delivers a fiendishly infectious hook on ‘Dance Hall Again’ with a relaxed swagger that ducks and weaves around gut-punching rhythms to devastating effect.

This original track comes with two remixes, by UK Funky legend Bakongo (aka Roska) and French producers Kaval & Stacktrace. Bakongo flips the already dancefloor-ready track into an irresistible and undeniably UK percussion workout destined for day-party hysteria, proving once again that this veteran of the scene has and always been the master of his genre. Amarhac is an audiovisual artist from Mar del Plata, Argentina. In his productions, futuristic soundscapes are explored through synthetic and digital sounds. He also incorporates digital art and 3D animations to visually enhance the sound scenes.

Asplenium, his 2nd release on the label, moves through different ecosystems within a unified narrative. It is divided into parts, but the aim is to provide a single, uninterrupted listening experience without cuts. The EP incorporates IDM, broken rhythms, deconstructed and ambient tones, all layered under a highly defined palette of textures and sound design. Several years on from his debut album Nomad and after a series of sound-evolving self-releases, Off-Switch Audio are excited to announce the second full-length album from Nuboid. Spanning across a range of genres and tempos Imago LP brilliantly showcases a fully refined style from the UK based producer; a final metamorphosis of the Nuboid sound.
It Comes In Waves atmospherically sets the tone for the LP, introducing crisply saturated tape sonics and harmonically rich retro synths. Pads modulate into a crashing crescendo, teasing ripples of delayed breakbeats above a rumble of cinematic low frequencies and an ethereal accumulation of reverberation FX. This building bed of ambience perfectly makes space for the impactfully percussive beats of AP2M7. With dark moving melodies, sizzling smooth cymbals and subtle hits of bass synth filth, AP2M7 is an absolute weapon for any DJ’s dancefloor artillery.
Oppose The Force then switches things up with authentically old-school rave aesthetics; pitch shifting vox-chops and a slow steady breakbeat work-out to keep the energy moving at pace. In a similar fashion, OGs draws for the acid bass and the drum machine, chopping hardcore vocal slices among punchy and precise electronic percussion hits, all glued together with a tasteful serving of analogue crunch.
Next up, is the distorted four to the floor madness that is Celsius. This is a proper gritty techno stomper; guaranteed heavy hitting material heated up to the maximum degree.
After the eerie interlude of Black Dog, Ode2TS follows up with a dark and rhythmic roller driven by modular style bass pulsations. .5Sleep then returns to the realms of crunchy lo-fi house; a truly emotive musical exploration that, in true album style, morphs fittingly into an interlude...
After introducing the sound palette with epilogue(questionmark), everything evolves into pure jungle rave euphoria with Could It Be. Perfectly chopped and mangled breaks in an elegant and restrained manner, paired with hard hitting 808 subs and that certified soulful vox/pad/piano combo.
Repercussions then reduces the tempo an increment, drawing Imago LP to a close with reflective and chilled out early morning vibes. Skippy four to the floor beats carry playful samples and melodies with one final sprinkling of saturation and cassette-tape character. A great example of Nuboid’s minimal yet strongly stylistic approach showcased throughout the album.
With a beat-tape-like structure akin to his previous work, Imago LP takes a much more varied approach, combining flavours of acid, techno, house and jungle to create a very well rounded and listenable album project. A coherent flow of club bangers and zone out head nodders throughout.

Budalagi is a Producer / DJ from Nairobi, Kenya and a trailblazer in many respects. An artist with a massive range, his sound spans various forms of techno, house and new club sounds such as gqom, drawing influence from african and black culture.

Forging his own path within Nairobi's underground electronic scene, Budalagi has been prolifically releasing tracks for the last 5 years, first turning heads with the gloriously off kilter Kulonkóì - a wonky, raw take on amapiano. His output since then has veered between experimental burners (Mura, from the KMRU curated compilation INSHA), to straight up club bangers like MaBaby and Brine which have received co-signs from the likes of Mathew Herbert, Skin On Skin and Kampire and Jaguar to name a few. He’s also built a cache of secret weapon edits that include flips of Awilo Longomba, Boondocks Gang, Wiz Khalifa and Dismas Nyang'au Onsoti’s Kisii classic One Day Morning. 
   
Budalagi is continually gaining notoriety globally and has built a reputation for uncompromising sets heavily populated by his own productions.
