Returning to Purified Records, Amsterdam-based artist Milan Steenwinkel unveils his ‘Broken Dreams’ EP - a striking two-track release that firmly establishes his place within the melodic techno landscape. Featuring ‘Broken Dreams’ and ‘Stories Left Behind’, the EP delivers a powerful blend of cinematic emotion and dancefloor intensity. Both tracks are driven by soaring melodies, tight percussion, and an underlying sense of momentum that reflects Milan’s signature balance of emotion and energy. With this fresh release, he brings a bold and expressive sound to the label - rooted in melodic and progressive influences and crafted with a clear artistic vision.

The ‘Broken Heart’ EP artwork is a photograph taken by Juan Mora of oceanic manta rays (Mobula birostris) in Revillagigedo National Park, Mexico. A Colombian biologist, UW photographer, and expedition leader, Juan has dedicated his life and work to ocean advocacy. His camera serves as a powerful tool to share his passion and highlight the importance of protecting our planet.

This mission is shared by COBI (Comunidad y Biodiversidad) (@cobi_mx), a Mexican NGO rooted in community and driven by a deep commitment to ocean conservation. By working hand in hand with coastal fishers, advancing sustainable practices, and generating knowledge through participatory science, COBI helps safeguard marine life and the livelihoods that depend on it. Their work is a powerful reminder that when real people on the frontlines lead, conservation becomes not just possible, but enduring.

Milan Steenwinkel - Broken Dreams

The ‘Meteor’ EP artwork is an aerial photograph of a small glacial river in the Jostedal Valley of Norway, taken by Jan Erik Waider. A fine art photographer based in Hamburg, Germany, Jan is known for capturing abstract landscapes of the northern latitudes. With a focus on water, ice, and intricate natural patterns, his work reveals the beauty hidden in the subtle details of the world around us.

A rapidly warming Arctic threatens not only sea ice and biodiversity but the stability of the entire planet. The 90 North Foundation (@90northfoundation) is dedicated to safeguarding the Central Arctic Ocean through science, education, and conservation policy. By supporting innovative research and advocating for ecosystem protections, they work to ensure this fragile, ice-covered region remains resilient in the face of climate change.

Born from experiences with Balinese Culture and it's ethos, Warung serves as a profound inspiration for the sound and project of Aaron Hopkins and Dillon Ames. Both Aaron and Dillon decided to set aside their solo endeavours to cultivate something rich together, aiming to create an organic music identity. Warung are back releasing on SHÈN with their latest offering 'Angel'. 

'Angel' came about from countless hours of listening to alternative dance and electronica from the 1990s, an era dominated by those sounds. Primarily inspired by trip-hop and dub, the track dives into the raw emotion of the genre and brings it to the forefront of peak dance music culture. 'Angel' was created as a clear global reflection of a time filled with optimism but also uncertainty, capturing the essence of a message that pierces into the listener’s soul. Dark and brooding in its nature, it is a perfect amalgamation of everything that was heard and everything that inspired the pairing.

Classically trained violinist turned producer/DJ Bud Cahill started playing violin at age five.

Growing up, Bud was deeply influenced by film scores and Trance. These influences shape his signature style, which fuses dance floor energy with cinematic, emotional storytelling.

Bud’s immersive tracks often feel like a soundtrack to an imagined story, allowing listeners to escape their reality for a few minutes.
