Odesa, which was usually overcrowded with tourists on warm days, turned into a fortress in constant anticipation of rocket attacks and the arrival of invaders. And after each attack, the streets of the city burst with the sounds of ambulances, covering the usual sounds of the sea and seagulls. And together with the change in the city, the music of the local underground was also transformed, responding to the challenges of the times, and reflecting these dark times.

Two people are confidently walking along a winding path. He is wearing a funny bucket hat that looks like he inherited it from his grandfather. She has a bright children's band-aid on her scraped knee. They're discussing the afterlife, laughing loudly, and clearly in love with each other. How many of them have passed by you? It's impossible to count. How many more will pass by? It's scary to imagine. Unlike them, you won't go anywhere. Because you are the most beautiful mossy stump on this whole slope. Your Periphery Is My Center is a show on @refugeworldwide curated by Oramics to support regionally underrepresented artists by amplifying the voices from the Eastern European electronic music scene and examining inequality within the industry. Each show presents a selection of music from a different country in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.

The second episode is prepared by Olena Pohonchenkova aka buddhist bubblegum and is dedicated to contemporary electronic and experimental music from Ukraine.

The show was aired on Refuge Worldwide in Berlin on the 27th of March 2023.

The fourth issue of Festina Lente is hybrid: different styles are intertwined in it, creating a darker and more clubby story this time.  

The episode begins with a hyperpop track by Europa&500 producers, which collides with an experimental UK track by Czech producer Sam Link, several new DNGDNGDNG remixes that took me to the quick, especially "Dime". 

As usual, I will voice a few names, then dive in to enjoy the unusual sound of the experimental club scene: An Avrin, Ido Plumes, Bicep, Bjork, Neana, Kellen303, Ikava Pii.

Helter (@heltermusic) has stomped his way onto the scene with little more than a name and a track back in January; however, when strong enough there's not much else that's needed. Today we’re highlighting another spellbinder from Helter’s upcoming and self-released debut. “Realtime” finds itself residing in the 5 spot of this release, though don’t let that deter from its stunning quality. “Realtime” makes use of a melodic, hearty bassline, fluttering tonal washes and truly rolling percussion to whisk listeners to a fuzzy headspace full of muted hues. It’s distorted pads and haunting, yet fleeting vocal stabs place this number squarely between the clouds and the dancefloor, perhaps even bringing them together to create a unique atmosphere, both grounded and soaring. Below we ask Helter a bit about himself. Take a listen to the premiere and learn a little about the man of the hour!
