Saint Petersburg-based Kuzma Palkin returns to GOST Zvuk with a new series, Memont. GOST has been expanding its presence for several years through sublabels Instrument and Archive, as well as releases from GOST family members on their own labels. Flaty's experiments can be found on the ANWO label, while OL has issued a number of releases through Asyncro. For Palkin, Memont represents a return to his roots. The artwork for the first release, stadion sever, features the original packaging of Moment universal superglue, something that will be familiar to every Russian who lived through the 1990s. The album is named after the eponymous stadium in Palkin's hometown of Severodvinsk, which is displayed on the back cover. Sever represented a kind of playing field in childhood, but has now come to stand in as a metaphor for daily life. The visual landscape of modern Russian life points back to Sever.

Musically, stadion sever is also a return to Palkin's roots. The echoes of early IDM that kickstarted his career in the beginning of the 2000s are on display here. While the music is thoughtful and attentive to detail, traces of irony can be identified among the seriousness, not least in the title of the series and the track synth1 power user. The same ironic touch makes its mark on the album's sound. Palkin borrows the recognizable textures of club music, but drastically modifies their context and transforms them into something altogether more thought-provoking and inscrutable. Palkin's unique sound and the beauty of his music can be found in the balance between retrospection and looking ahead, where austerity meets humour.

'Aggelos first approached Lurid Music with the idea for this project a few months ago. We agreed on one condition, that all proceeds be donated to refugee causes, like we did with his Black Sea EP which supported the Syrian refugee crisis. When Russia invaded Ukraine, we decided our focus had to be helping the Ukrainian refugees who were forced to leave their homes in search of safe havens abroad.

We discussed this with most contributors to the project and the consensus was that donations should strictly go to humanitarian groups and not any armament funds. There were also some thoughts about helping conflict-affected peoples in other parts of the world but we decided it was too much to tackle for a relatively small project like this one.

Therefore, donations stemming from the sales of this release will be distributed to the following humanitarian groups currently active in Ukraine or neighboring countries welcoming refugees:

Carrying on with the momentum from DJ Panthr's excellent Source Drift EP, we here at Sound Transitions are proud to present a wildly reimagined soundscape in the form of a heavy hitting Remix EP. With remixes from Selfhood, Quelaan, Dpcld, and more, the EP takes material from DJ Panthr's bag of tricks and spins it into something else entirely.

Starting with Slefood's slow building, emotional interpretation of "Liquid Light" with its stuttering drums and laser focused melodies to the head-spinning rhythms and rumbling low end of the Pinz & Pelz remix of "Source Drift" to the delicate deep house stylings of Memphis Glass to the abstract, wonked out IDM of 88b's version of " Shadow Realm" and finally arriving at Dpcld's featherweight, aqueous drum and bass version of "Liquid Light" the EP is a thorough journey through all of the dark corners of dance music.

Each producer brings their own unique voice and style to the already great tracks that DJ Panthr provided. They take the originals to new, unknown places in and around the dance floor. These remixes keep you on your toes and keep a smile on your face.

«I compiled this mix of my favorite tracks that have been accompanying me lately – the audio drugs that I’ve been using for the whole year. And now I want to share them with you for free, for fun! Ultimately I scooped up 2 hours worth of music. Some incredible stuff here!

I have played these tracks to many friends of mine and I want the rest of them to hear these sounds in their turn, so I'm thankful to the Fields podcast for this opportunity. Recently I realized that I love Russian music very much, despite all the circumstances. I love it for its originality, incredible sense of humor, heartiness, its balance of complexity and simplicity.

This mix covers many different genres. The first hour is full of wild and crazy stuff: outsider rap, deviant pop, acid rock, industrial rumble and electrified free jazz. The second one is more about beauty and delicacy: you can hear deep fusion from Слава Трио, genial lo-fi house by Maxim Elizarov, overdrived with basses enthno-noise from Tashkent-based musician Psy-Factor, plunderphonics from the Godforsaken artist Gapon and a love theme from New Composers.

Most of the tracks haven’t been released publicly yet – some of them will be released on ТОПОТ in the near future, while others will have to marinade, biding their time on the computers of their respective authors. I wish you a deep dive and a fun musical journey!»

Atoraye is the project of electronic and multi-instrumentalist Geo Kotanov, resident of Kruzhok Radio, member of KLU project, producer and co-founder of Formless fm. Inspired by the new Middle Eastern sound of the capitals of Egypt, Lebanon and Iran, Geo creates his own ornate post-oriental language. Geo's Assyrian roots give his music a distinctive flavour. 
Rough and spacey dub-techno, moving into deafening noise and leftfield, which moves seamlessly into soothing, depressive droning and fragile ambient. It's all filled with whipping percussion, looped chants in Semitic languages and mystical oud playing.

Dark matter, oriental sound, UK vibe, some broken rhythms and even the premiere of a new track (comming soon almost)
