This programme comprises Side A and Side B, reflecting their triple identity. Side A, titled ‘AURE: ADEAD U RUIN EVERYTHING’, features a reworked version of their 2022 DJ set from China's legendary Club Galame, blended with newly sourced ‘destructive’ tracks from across the globe. This mix serves as an outpouring of their most vulnerable and powerless selves, offering a defiantly negative rebellion against the world.

ADEAD are pioneers of emo bass, employing apocalyptic deconstruction techniques to subvert club music and its subgenres. They aim to spearhead its reinvention. Hailing from Guangdong Province, they are among the region's most prolific producers and DJs, having released music on labels such as @bio-future-lab, @postworldmusic, @noctm, @absurd-creation, @jyugamlabel, Daftpop Sounds, @zaaang_glassbystander, @doubletakerecords and @seippelabel.

Drowned By Locals marks its fifth anniversary with a three-volume digital anthology and a limited printed manifesto, Black Circle, written by Ian Bruner and published by Drowned By Public.

Rather than serving as a retrospective, the anthology traces the label’s evolving sound, its expanding cohort of misfits, and its unfolding trajectory. Across the three volumes, DBL assembles new works, long-buried material, and contributions from artists connected to the label through releases, radio, dormant ideas, or future intentions. Taken together, they form a portrait of the label’s instinctive curatorial logic — pairing worlds that should not, by any reasonable measure, coexist.

All volumes draw their titles and thematic direction from Black Circle. The manifesto describes “pornographic-time” as a condition in which desire is continuously activated but never fulfilled. It’s the experience of being pulled outward by images, demands, and expectations faster than one can return to oneself. You remain visible, but rarely seen.

Each volume adopts a different facet of this state.

Volume I — The Pornographic-Tantalus “Each gesture toward conclusion makes the object recede. Tantalus stands beneath bowed fruit trees, but as she moves to consume, the branch bends away. With each pang of thirst, the water ebbs further.”

Volume II — The Continuous Present “Because of its accelerated pace, pornographic-time both appears and vanishes instantly—a cybernetic loop, a continuous present. Overfull and empty. Life collapses into micro-moments that disappear as soon as they arrive.”

Volume III — The Horizonless Interface “Both the targeted individual and the pornographic-Tantalus occupy the time-space of the horizonless interface, hived in algorithmic neurological pathways and pathologies, resulting in a bare life layered with compulsive and neurotic loops of behavior.”

Black Circle expands these ideas into print, combining Bruner’s text with visual contributions from more than twenty artists. Released in a hand-numbered run of 100 copies, it will be available independently or bundled with the anniversary T-shirt. All physical editions include the full three-volume digital anthology.

TRNGS is a Producer, DJ and founder of experimental label g_sv. Their work draws from deconstructed club, breakcore, and footwork, melting between genres and finding strange spaces in between for new rhythmic ideas. 
Across their body of work, TRNGS builds worlds where velocity and frenetic energy become expressive tools, using chopped percussion, warped samples, and unstable rhythmic grids to push sonics past their limits. This philosophy extends through their curation at G_SV; publishing compilation g_sv001 in 2023, g_sv has cemented itself as a platform for extremes of electronic music. They return again and again to a central theme: the frenetic, cathartic pulse of technology emotional consequences of living inside it. They have released a large body of work including album "Real Eyewitness" through g_sv.

For this mix, TRNGS brings the philosophy behind their work to the forefront, highlighting some of the most intense sounds in the electronic scene alongside their new work

RADIO:TRAUMA 063: TRNGS

Regular readers of tQ might remember that our friends at MUTEK helpfully had someone handy with a tape recorder to capture Factory Floor's comeback set at the 2024 edition of the festival. Well, we're happy to report that they've done done the same again, this time with one of our favourite collaborative duos – James Holden and Wacław Zimpel. The intense, beautiful and burbling set, with modular synths and saxophone dancing in all the bright ecstasy of a winter mountain stream, can be listened to on our Soundcloud below.  " i remember i really enjoyed this one, it was the first show we'd had for a little while and felt quite flowy, a nice connected feeling," reflected James Holden, and his musical partner agrees: "I really loved it," Wacław Zimpel says, "it's always quite amazing to play again after longer break. Breaks gives a room for new ideas to grow spontaneously." They both praise preceding sets by Yu Su and Valentina Magaletti for setting "a great vibe at the venue," as Zimpeł puts it. It came on top of a fine stay in Montreal for the festival. "We immersed ourselves in the local cuisine – poutine – and then climbed the big hill. at the top a guy with a fluorescent cargo bike and a poodle in (also fluorescent) ankle warmers turned up, pumping 90s house out of a Bluetooth speaker. We felt like we'd completed Canada, achievement unlocked."

CMD is a Montreal-based producer and DJ. She is the host of Modular Systems, a biweekly radio show on the campus-community station CKUT 90.3 FM. Over the past two decades she has been a member of various DJ-producer crews organizing events in the city. Currently she works with moodswings to bring leftfield bass and techno to Montreal dancefloors. Versatile and discerning, her DJ sets and live performances draw from her wide range of influences and interests and her love of synth-laden techno, electro, and ambient music. Her productions can be found on labels including Fixed Rhythms, PPRZ, and Jacktone.
