For maj7's "ESCAPE FROM WIP CITY" event. This is based on a WIP by anosci from 2018. Not wanting to destroy his original vision, I decided to try and make it a bit longer and add some additional elements, rather than making a cover or remix. 

I decided to use the Roland XV-5080 VST (for the first time), fun to use and has some good sounds although it started ruining OpenMPT's performance, so unfortunately this track didn't turn out too long. But at least I think I added some nice parts.

Thank you for always being so cool and willing to put up with my silly hobbies, mom. I hope this mashup was worth the effort! It was a bit of a nightmare matching BPMs with Drum Trip - which is the backing drum track - but I think I got it to mostly work out.

I'm generally content with the state of this mashup, after having been stuck on the ending for around 3 weeks. I'm still not super happy about the ending bit, but I figure that my mom won't hold it against me too much, haha. On the other hand, I am pretty happy with the cover art. I dunno, the idea of having a "forest" made of nails and screws that have been driven into the ground seems like something that some enterprising band would use as an album cover. Maybe even Rusted Root, who knows. (Hey, if anyone in Rusted Root sees this, I'm currently living in Pittsburgh. Hit me up if you want me to make your next album cover. :p)
