The flames burned bright; shades of auburn, gold and orange searing into her eyes. She couldn't tear her eyes away from it: there was something about fire that enraptured her. It was as though she could see something within it that guided her path, that showed her things she couldn't normally see. For her it had healing powers beyond the physical and the tangible. 

Dudbridge Garage, the world's local garage, is opening its doors once again for another instalment from label co-founder Chungo. Now on its fourth release, following EPs from himself and fellow head honcho LeftLeft, they continue their mission to showcase their contemporary spin on the sounds of UKG with two hypnotic tracks full of warm bass, crisp percussion and chopped vocal samples.

UK producer Chungo returns to Scuffed Recordings for his third EP on the label, with three new tracks pairing playful melodies and bouncing grooves with his signature bass-driven, percussive techno style.

Chungo has been a part of the Scuffed family since day dot, with his Fender EP arriving as the fifth release on the label back in 2018. The release marked him as an artist to watch and went a long way to establishing his characteristic sound, picking up support from artists like HAAi in the process.

He returned to Scuffed in early 2020 for his Pineapple EP; a release that showed his progression as a producer by introducing more melodic elements on the anthemic title track, while also marking a milestone for Scuffed as their first EP to be released on vinyl. 

Meanwhile, Chungo’s Dudbridge Garage International label, run alongside LeftLeft, has been picking up pace over the past year, with the warped, vocal-led track ‘O O O’ receiving love from DJs like The Blessed Madonna and Qrion. 

On the LX EP, Chungo further explores the melodic elements he set out on his Pineapple release, laying down an addictive earworm of a lead on the title track, while staying consistent to the percussive style he’s made his hallmark – pulling in influences from UK funky, garage, baile funk, and techno. 

Early support on the EP has come from Ben UFO, Sherelle, re:ni, rRoxymore, and Emerald. 

The LX EP will be out on all digital platforms on 15th October 2021, with the title track arriving as a single on 8th October.

Chungo - Evade

Dudbridge Garage International co-founder LeftLeft returns with his second solo release on the label, with three new genre-dodging tracks bridging the gap between melodic and minimalistic club music. ‘Zooki’s Return’ sees LeftLeft exploring new musical territory, with an altogether more laidback track influenced by trap and alternative R&B. It’s an unexpected end to the release, but one that shows LeftLeft’s plethora of influences and production skills.

From end to end the street was filled with all your wants and needs. You could get practically anything and everything here: sweet spices in beautiful packages; well-loved clothes; hordes of bric-a-brac; dusty vinyl and tapes; hot homemade dishes from all over the world. Each vendor had their own specialty or expertise; nobody stepped on anybody's toes, there was no sense of competition. They were one huge family who looked out for one another.

Dudbridge Garage International return for their last release of the year courtesy of their own co-head Chungo. Alongside fellow label boss LeftLeft, the Lisbon-based artist has moulded the label into a platform for expertly produced UK bass and garage - you'll know a Dudbridge release when you hear it. On the sixth release Chungo draws on these sounds in his own singular way. Over the course of three tracks he showcases his precision at sound design, matching signature chopped and screwed vocals with heavy bass lines and crisp, swung drum patterns.

Puppet-master Chungo unveils an EP of four stunning 2-step productions with his first release of 2025 - 'DBGI007'. The rhythm architect has been carefully sculpting his own unique 2-step style over a slew of releases on labels such as Scuffed Recordings, Accidental Meetings and his own flagship imprint Dudbridge Garage Intl. With Corsa, Pupazzo, Imbarco & Aurora, Chungo has perfected his formula, presenting four masterfully crafted and glistening UKG gems.

The tracks are born from the concept of being sonically coerced into movement, distilled down to the essential elements of rhythm; bass, vocals and drums. Having studied the phenomenon of rhythm based primarily on the writings of Tiger C. Roholt, Chungo explores the idea of groove as the puppeteer and the listener the puppet (Pupazzo in Italian). With the elements perfectly balanced, they lock into the internal metronome of the listener, turning motion into a necessity.

These rhythmic concepts coupled with Chungo's signature sugar-sweet production stylings make for an EP of pure UKG bliss that cuts through the noise and demands dance-floor participation.

PREMIERE: Chungo - Pupazzo [Dudbridge Garage International]

Prolific imprint Scuffed Recordings make their first foray into vinyl with a quartet of signature tracks from their back catalogue that have been already causing damage on the dancefloor. 
Detroit oddball Marshall Applewhite (@marshall-applewhite) opens proceedings with “Destroy The Silence”, a frenzied mass of stripped down electro-percussion that does exactly what its title says. Japanese producer Naco (@naco) counters this energy with his gritty slow building tech-house mutation, OIZB. On the flip, Glances’ (@glancesmusic) Bulwark combines ethereal vocals with glitchy, pulsating percussion and Chungo (@chungobristol) closes out the release with the tribal, UK techno channeling roller Shuka.

Laughter and chatter filled the streets, a chorus of energy that could not be tempered. Not today, not after all this time spent solely with one's own thoughts. The atmosphere was joyous, a coming together of friends and family; faces that hadn't been seen in months, long awaited exchanges that seemed as though they'd never materialise. But here they were, all together as if nothing had kept them apart in the first place. 

Following their inaugural release in February - a split EP from label co-captains LeftLeft and Chungo - Dudbridge Garage International offer up their second outing, this time a solo EP from the latter label head. With several previous releases on Scuffed Recordings, the Bristol-based producer turns his attention to his own imprint with a three tracker of club tools that flaunt meticulous percussion, time-stretched vocals and syncopated drums, crafted with UKG sensibilities.
