Kräftige Basslines und treibende Beats untermalt mit Klang füllenden Melodien - das ist Augenstein. Unser neuer Flimmercast vor der Sommerpause kommt vom talentierten Till aus unserer liebsten Stadt, Halle an der Saale. Ob nun hinter den Decks oder im Studio, Augenstein schafft es mit seinem einzigartigen langsamen Sound weniger langsamere Bewegungen hervorzurufen! Mit einigen Releases bei bekannten Labels wie @downvienna, @randomcollectivecr und natürlich bei seiner Crew @finebeatz hat sich Augenstein bereits einen Namen gemacht. Zurücklehnen oder vielleicht lieber ein paar Meter zurücklegen. Ganz egal, der Sound von Augenstein passt überall hin!

Heute geht es mit unserem Podcast nach Amsterdam zu Goro. Kenner seiner Musik schätzen die Vielschichtigkeit seiner Mixe, in denen er teils dunkle, aber auch melodische Parts einbaut. Immer ein Stück organisch und tanzbar. Definitiv Musik die perfekt zu unserer Reihe passt. Ganz nebenbei ist er Teil und Gründungsmitglied von der Eventreihe Obscure (https://soundcloud.com/obscure_events_amsterdam) und ein Teil von Oriental Deep (https://soundcloud.com/orientaldeepevents). Beides solltet ihr auf dem Schirm haben.

Sein eingespielter Mix ist eine schöne Reise durch die weiten Welten der Hypnose. Anfangs eher düster und pulsierend, bindet er nach und nach immer mehr Flächen ein, die auch zum Träumen einladen. Dabei hält er gekonnt den Spagat zwischen Traum und Tanz. Eine Formel die süchtig macht. Zumindest im positiven Falle. Dazu technisch und stilistisch stimmig fein abgemischt. Ein Genus und das ist nicht untertrieben.

Definitiv Musik, die wie gemalt ist für eine perfekte Afterhour.

Nugi's fascination with jazz is very clear in this mix. Relaxed jazzy and dubby tracks meet calm downtempo songs. The entire mix feels like a journey through different soundscapes. Always surprising, but at the same time moody and harmonious. Just the thing for cosy hours in autumn.

"Pol Balam is a project that, like Tepeme Música, is born from the desire to stop being a spectator in the electronic music scene, mostly downtempo with dyes of eclecticism and transculturality.
What I'm looking for with Pol Balam is to share new and old music from many corners of the world, whether for moments of meditation, dancing, relaxation or psychedelic experiences. A few years have passed since the day I saw myself playing to share my love and passion for music.
Music, as pure vibration, is a powerful healing tool and has healed me so many times. During dark times of sadness and loneliness, music connected me to deeps feelings of joy and gratitude, bringing my soul back to life. I’m forever grateful for all the things that music brought to my life such as unique moments and experiences, lifetime friends, profound connections to humans, myself, and the Universe.

During @mira_kater’s birthday in Berlin last December, I decided that 2020 will be the year where I will start playing and stop postponing my dream.
Orkatz was born that weekend, in a moment of pure bliss listening to all the amazing artists who played for Mira and us at Katerblau, my favorite club in Berlin.

I was fast to buy Traktor, but not so fast on starting to play. Maybe a lack of self-confidence, lack of time also… but my two fairies friends Sonia & Cindy offered me the opportunity to play during an enchanted weekend they organized last weekend. I did not feel ready but I said YES. There was no way I would postpone this again and it was the perfect set up to start. A beautiful house and magical garden by the river, 25 friends who could only give me the best support and love, with no pressure of being perfect or being judged.

The night before, I created my playlist, bought tracks I love, imagined what I wanted to share, opened Traktor, and started exercising.
I finished working on my future first set in the car…
Two mornings after, I was behind the decks and pressed play…
By doing so, I know I am engaging myself into a completely new cycle of my life journey.

I can't thank enough my friend and musical mentor @lucid-paris, a Dj and now music producer that I always believed in and pushed to reveal his talent to the world. Now roles have changed and he is the one teaching me and giving me the courage to start playing.

So enough writing here is my very first set.
Please be kind on the little technical bugs. I am fully into a learning process so it’s definitely not perfect…

A special tribute to my two fairies friends Cindy and Sonia who gave me this amazing opportunity to step out of my cocoon…

Alvaro's relation with music starts really early. At the young age of 5, he started to learn music through the violin. From then on, his interest in music increased day by day, opening his mind for other styles out of classical music but without leaving his violin aside. Influence of his classical studies in Alvaro’s music is huge, giving big importance to melodic elements on his productions and sets. The idea of making a link between classical and electronic music has been from the beginning in his mind so he supports his sets playing live violin.
He has been a regular in the club scene of Berlin and Copenhagen playing often in well-known venues of the German capital as Sisyphos, Weekend Club or Ritter Butzke. And it is since 2017 that he started to travel more intensively with his music, performing during the last couple of years in cities like Athens (Greece), Berlin (Germany), Casablanca (Morocco), Copenhagen (Denmark), Gothenburg (Sweden), Le Carbet (Martinique - France), Los Angeles (USA), Madrid (Spain), Mexico City (Mexico), Miami (USA), Moscow (Russia), Paris (France), Reykjavik (Iceland), Tulum (Mexico) or the popular Burning Man in Nevada (USA) to name a few.
