This is the first half of a live set recorded the weekend before I moved to Sydney.
Part 1 is pretty mainstream and commercial (yeah ok call me a sellout!). Part 2 is more underground with 4-to-the-floor House, big room Tech and only a couple of boots! Big thanks to Stacy & Mark @ 55 in New Plymouth...

Live at Club 55: Part 1

The second half of my set at 55 starts out housey but gets pretty techy in a hurry. I really enjoyed this part of the night, I had a few tequilas on board and the crowd was awesome (except for the dude who dropped a stinker on the dancefloor). A few of the tracks in here are my absolute favourites - like “Courses for Horses". And it wouldn't be one of my sets if there wasn't a bootleg (or two) thrown in!

Live at Club 55: Part 2

This is a live mix that was recorded on a crappy Sony minidisc at my party BUMP in September of 2007. What it lacks in perfect sound quality it makes up for in ‘realness’ and it also has a lot of good memories attached to it.
So yeah it's old now, but I still like it. It's a shame the disc ran out just as I was getting into the tech-knowledge-e phase of the night.
Special thanks to the awesome staff at Ink Bar and to Soane for getting the audio off the minidisc for me and being a big inspiration : )



LOVE BUMP Live Mix (Sep 2007) by DJ ANGE

This is a live mix featuring some of my favourite tracks from the last 10 years and a few more recent releases. I didn't realise it at the time, but most of the older tracks remind me of a certain DJ back home in NZ... Soane, Bevan Keys, Philippa,Camille, Ed and my friends Tim Lunken and Paul Gunn to name a few. It's good when you can take a trip down memory lane... back when Barrio was the best place to hear house on a Wednesday night, when the Grand Circle was open, when Calibre was pumping til 8am and House Music ruled the night.

BUMP Ange Oceans Summer House Mix 2012

This was recorded in Serato the first time I played at Barrio. It's got some of my favourite old deep house tracks in here and a few surprises thrown in... like the ‘Wait a minute" by Ty that I've always wanted to drop in a Deep House set, and Angola by Carl Craig. Nerve-wrackingly mixed in the presence of Roger Perry at Barrio.

Ange gained an appreciation for dance music early on in life as the daughter of nightclub owning parents. She got her first set of turntables at the age of 16, and back then was heavily into Hip Hop. It wasn’t until she heard the skills of Chicago House legend Derrick Carter in 2000, that she made the transition to electronica.
As a graduate of the 2001 Red Bull DJ Academy (held in London Feb 2002), Ange has been focused on music with integrity and chooses not to follow the status quo (mainstream hits). Her sets run the gamut from house, to techno and everything in between with a focus on keeping things interesting and lifting the vibe.
Today Ange is one of New Zealand’s better known female DJ’s and has featured on countless dance events. She has a loyal fan base cultivated through the drive show she hosted on George FM for over 3 years and monthly club night BUMP which ran for 7 years at Aucklands infamous Ink Bar.
Ange has supported the likes of Derrick Carter, Justin Harris, James Curd, Brett Johnson, Kevin Saunderson, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Chris Duckenfield, Inland Knights, Kenny Larkin and Gene Farris to name a few.
Ange as her own definitively unique style. Her diverse collection of house music never fails to rock a floor, and her passionate delivery of the many musical influences she loves never fails to impress.
