To focus on forward thinking techno that transcends through soulful and emotive electronic music, to high energy groove-laden club tracks. of releases derived from their undeniable love of electronic music. 
The guys officially kicked off the label launch with a stacked 6 date joint tour in Spain, and welcome one of the hottest young producers from New York – Avision to kick start things for EI8HT with his ‘Work It Out’ EP. 
New Yorker Avision had something of an unfair advantage growing up in the Big Apple. Surrounded by such a rich vein of talent has certainly rubbed off on him, and his brand of tech has found favour with disparate band of tastemakers encompassing everyone from Adam Beyer to Nicole Moudaber to The Martinez Brothers. Releases on We Are The
Brave, Second State and Intec in recent years has cemented his position as a rising star, topped off by festival and club performances across the US and beyond. 
Avision’s release is every bit as NYC as you could imagine. Spiky stabs and crisp percussion reign on ‘Jumpin’ which draws its power from the clever arrangement and use of light and dark. ‘O.G.roove’ is a deeper basement vibe reminiscent of those lost Tuesday mornings in Cielo with Francois K completely in the zone. Mesmerising. Rounding out the pack, ‘Work It Out’ is a stomping, Piano-led Tech beast. Energetic, groovy as hell and perfectly New York.

A regular staple of the Kneaded Pains label, London based DYSART cues up a two track single for Dense & Pika’s imprint, with ‘Mint’.
 
Following up recent releases for 2000 and One’s 100% Pure label, and Carl Cox’s Intec, DYSART leads this latest techno transmission with the rattling intensity of ‘Mint’.  Shimmering ride cymbals dazzle over its funky rhythm and elementary tone pattern for a functional and gratifying club cut.  ‘Omnis’, meanwhile, comes out of the starting blocks with a pernicious kick drum and some twisted industrial sound mangling for a darker but no less deadly track.

Hot on the heels and imminent success of DJ 3000’s impressive ‘Don’t Stop EP’, comes ‘Werkin EP’ [MT 138]. DJ 3000’s second EP of the year drops again on his own imprint, Motech Records. This second EP is a two-track affair, and like his ‘Don’t Stop EP’ was produced during the middle of the Covid-19 lockdown. 

Motech founder and artist DJ 3000 (aka Franki Juncaj) says, “loads of ideas came to me and like lightning in a bottle you gotta capture it.” The title track, ‘Werkin’ is a continuation of the soundscapes explored with his critically acclaimed track ‘Don’t Stop’. Crisp hitting 909’s along with analogue chords and droning vocal chop give ‘Werkin’ a real old-skool authenticity. DJ 3000 explains, “my ideas for both ‘Don’t Stop’ and ‘Werkin’ were to make some raw unpolished tracks inspired by older Detroit-Ghetto tracks, but with decreased BPM providing more of a techno flavour.” 

The second track on the EP is ‘Without Fear’, which takes simplicity in structure and sound, combining modulated Detroit chords that provide aggression and catchiness, locking the listener into the groove. The result is a classic Motech / 3000 track that nicely bites with plenty of movement and pace. “I feel ‘Without Fear’ embodies the attitude of Detroit right now, and certainly through the course of history; we do what we do without two s**** given as to what people think, because we will rise! The ‘Without Fear’ title comes from the early days of me making tunes where I didn’t give a s*** what anyone thought was hot or what was the in-trend production style of the moment. Just back to making music that comes to me at the time and roll with it. If I think it’s funky, I’m releasing it”, explains Franki.
