Flex Like Rex

From the album The New Flesh released in early 2018 through Moontown Records, this track is an exploration of excess and pushing life to its limits. A party machine hustler known as simply Rex navigates the sleazy underbelly of city life, only to become a regular fixture and component to crime, drugs and a scene that seems to be spiralling out of control, but then again many aspire to this level. The album takes heavy handed cues from David Cronenberg’s Videodrome and is an exploration of body horror and the relationship between humans and technology as well as dreams, nightmares and the structures of the human condition. A world of post apocalyptic cyber reality.

"Uncompromising body-music turned into a mish-mash of new beat industrial greatness, Australian outfit BURA BURA manages to catch a depth which is overlooked within electronic body music, as his heavily transformed vocals bounce against the complex percussion in each song. A lot of the songs would fit better in a cinematic setting, but some of them are outright ridiculously great to listen to in some parts, especially “Flex Like Rex“." REPARTISERAREN
