I dug into my crates for some of my favorite jams that likely wouldn’t make it into any other mixes. From funk to feel-good house to a bunch of classics, this mix has a bit of everyone to enjoy. So this mix is years overdue... As a DJ who started out playing strictly DnB I used to have a secret hate on for house music. House was always a dirty word in my vocabulary but over the years, especially during the pandemic I started to dig it more and more. My doctor said there was nothing wrong with me, it's perfectly normal to like house music.😅 I'm no aficionado but, for a while, I've wanted to put together a bunch of my favorite housey & garagey tunes. So here it is, my first ever House (and a little garage) mix Durty Wurd! Perfect for summer time boogies, road trips, pool parties, orgies etc...

"I am so honored to be back at Shambhala's 2019 season at The Living Room Stage this year. I am playing two live EVeryman and Little Giants hip hop sets. One on Saturday and one Sunday. These will be primarily hip hop sets of my original tracks and me rapping live. I wanted to make this mix different. I wanted to make a mix of all my friends from Shambhala over the years and some of my new favorite tunes fused with old school hip hop classics. I chose to incorporate music that reminded me of all the good times I have had at Shambhala over the years. This mix was made with the memory of Jon Horvath of @FortKnoxFive and Nicholas Alvarado, A.K.A. @Pumpkin , both dear friends and DJ's who we lost too soon. These men both changed the way I hear and feel music. I would not be the DJ or performer I am today without their guidance and support. I would not be performing at Shambhala if Jon did not do bring me to meet Hoola when he lost his voice and could not get on the mic back in 2013. Jon handed me the mic and said, "Alright brother go Introduce Mark Farina right now." The rest is history. We all miss them both dearly, through the Funk Family worldwide Jon and Nick's funky souls live on. Thanks to Sara and Hoola for having me back to help host the Living Room Stage. Can't wait to be back to perform at the best party in the world! I hope you all enjoy this mix."

Burchill was created from his passion for electronic music & through his involvement in the Western Canadian music scene over the last decade. He has become a regular on the festival circuit with stops at Shambhala, Rifflandia, Chasing Summer, Badlands, Motion Notion, FozzyFest, Wicked Woods, and many more. He has been dipping his toes into the production world lately with two releases out to date and more on the way. 

He cut his teeth at the notorious Hifi Club in Calgary where he held his monthly residency, Field Trip. Bringing the festival house party vibe into the club with plants, fresh pizzas, and ice-cold margaritas. He excelled at bringing the West Coast festival experience into Calgary’s premier dance venue and showcasing the freshest and brightest talents in the industry. 

The 2023 festival season marked a pivotal chapter in Burchill's career, where he soared to new heights on some of Canada's most illustrious stages.
