This track doesn’t ask nicely, it demands answers with phasers drawn. A fusion of spoken word protest, sci-fi satire, and dark observational poetry, You!! What Planet Is This? beams vintage Star Trek dialogue into today’s collapsing headlines. The beat lurches forward like a panicked heartbeat, and the vocal delivery has a punked out preacher vibe, half warning, half wailing. The DeForest Kelly clips are hilarious and eerie at once, especially when surrounded by lines that hit too close to our planetary reality. This is spoken truth with a raygun in one hand and a crumbling roadmap in the other. 📡 The microwave blinked and muttered, “Is it satire or prophecy? Yes.” ☕ The coffee machine pulsed, “McCoy might be delirious, but he’s making sense” 💨 The kettle shrieked, “You had me at ‘Paranoia, planet panic’, I’ve been there since 2020”

This song started as many of our best do, with Chris coming up with it on his acoustic guitar. He shared it with the rest of us shortly after, and we were all very excited to tuck into it. 
  Ken was fist at the trough for this one, adding his jazzy, expressive drums. Josh came in as soon as he had a beat to work with, adding his signature fretless bass to the mix. Not long after that, JJ broke out the hauntingly melodic piano and Shine On You Crazy Diamond timbred synth you hear throughout. 
  Once it had a good structure to it, Mark came in and added the dynamic cello swells that open the song, some subtle strings, the melodic clarinet and flute, and a bit of synth pad near the end to spice up the soup a bit. He also had the great idea to ask Nyla to add some vocals, which she did in her typically dynamic and expressive way using her original lyrics. Last, but definitely not least, we convinced Stephen to add some of his perfectly mood-setting banjo. 
  Once it was all in the can, it actually sat for several months before being revived by Chris, who also did the production and mix, expertly, as always.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the ABC Movie of the week Trilogy of Terror- It was 3 chilling adaptions of 3 short stories written by the great sci fi author Richard Matheson. The late Karen Black ( not only a wonderful actress,she was also a great singer and songwriter) starred in all 3 of the features playing 4 characters.  As 12 year old kids of course we were the most horrified and terrified by the final story Amelia - a  story about  a demonic warrior doll that comes to life and starts attacking poor Ms. Black

 Starts out pretty chill but the last 10 mins of that film were very intense for us in 1975 ..we kids couldn't sleep well for a few nights .. I wrote the song as an homage to the story/movie/Ms. Black ( she didnt really like the movie) as well as using the story as  metaphor for the demons that live in us all
