The prolific electronic producer has been on the circuit for more than ten years and has explored a wide musical spectrum: from house to techno and new wave to electro. More recently his productions have taken a more progressive & trancey turn. On "Unknown Pharmacy" the producer is blending some trancey dancefloor weapons (Pharmacom & Muscle Fields) with crazy breaks (Autismo1) and a downtempo track (Underworld) to close the record in a calmer note. NYC leftfield disco darlings Phenomenal Handclap Band made their first appearance on RNT by way of a collab with JKriv in 2022, and now they return for an offering all their own, the Burning Bridges EP. The title track juxtaposes riffy guitar driven funk with plaintive vocals that smack of 1970s Heart in the best way, and Prins Thomas turns the tempo knob up a few clicks and launches into an extended interstellar  excursion with his remix. On the B side the cinematic slow burner ‘It Was The Summer’ begins sparse and hazy and builds to driving peak of backbeat rhythm and an insistent vocal soliloquy. Each Other (Justin Strauss & Max Pask) then take the tune straight the rave with arpeggiated and acidic synths, recasting the haunting vocals as a modern New Wave anthem.

It's time to present a new edition of DSSmix! This time we invited Santiago Ritacco, who is undoubtedly one of our favorite selectors in the current Spanish scene. His selections and skill in finding gems from the 90s and mid-00s make him a standout artist. It's also worth noting that Ritacco collaborated with us on our first compilation with his project R&I. It's a great pleasure to have you in this series.

1. How and where was the mix recorded?

I recorded it at my home in Tenerife. We programmed it several months ago, so I had time to make a good selection of what I wanted to play.

2. Can you tell us about the idea behind the mix?

The idea behind this mix was to create a podcast dedicated to what I usually play on the dance floor, including many unreleased tracks from upcoming projects and edits, always with my signature 90s sound.

3. What are you up to next? Projects, ideas…

In a few weeks, we have the Dias De Campo festival (which inspired me a lot for this mix), several upcoming dates booked, and we continue working on our label Toscal Records, where we are preparing our first vinyl and promoting the local scene with my group of friends from Carne Fiesta.

4.- Lastly, for you what is Dance, Shake, Swing!?

I've known Leo for many years, I think even before they founded this brand, and they are doing a great job in the Barcelona scene. I hope they continue for many more years!

Pomalo, means 'take it easy' in Croatian Dalmatia region's slang, is the latest addition to the Burek/Barba family.

A 12" by CL Dawkins titled 'Affirmation Of Love' comes as a wonderful postcard from Detroit. Written and produced by Alex Israel, remixed by Amp Fiddler, and with a vocal contribution by Lavell Williams, the record features three different generations of Detroit artists.

Alex Israel, here debuting his CL Dawkins moniker, is a mechanical engineer and synth aficionado with a deep respect for soul music. 
Since 2011, Alex has released a string of successful releases under his real name on labels such as Creme Organization, Stilove4music, Night Gallery and W.T. Records.

In tune with the mood and title of the label, Alex delivers two mid-tempo jams which are hard to ignore. 'Affirmation Of Love' is a soulful tune that works equally as the last song of the night, in your living room, or at a boat party. 
Mr. Williams, whose vocals envelop the song, is vice president of the Detroit Sound Conservancy, an organisation deeply involved with Detroit's musical heritage education.

CL's second tune on the record is 'Blue Falconry', an instrumental with a subtle synth line reminiscent of Alex's previous work threading through the whole length.

Finally, Amp Fiddler contributes his take on the vocal cut. Fiddler's career connects the worlds of George Clinton, Sly and Robbie, Prince, and Brand New Heavies to artists like Moodymann, J Dilla, Theo Parrish, and A Tribe Called Quest. 
A one-man musical hub, and an artist whose impressive biography would take up more space than we have here, spins the title with a dancefloor edge while retaining all the things we love about the original, a soulful Detroit house take that leaves a lasting impression...
