"My name is Alissa Kaes, I’m a 21y/o DJ and upcoming producer from Ghent. My mother is a Congolese/Haitian woman, my father is from Belgium. He’s the one that got me into techno, my first rave was with him. It was at that rave I fell in love with the way a DJ influences the vibe and the energy of the people. I realized that I wanted to do the same. I wanted to share the music that makes me happy. I also believe that when a DJ feels the vibe, they bring one to the crowd. That’s why it’s important for me to enjoy the set that I’m playing, so the people can feel the love that I’m feeling when I hear the music."

Burenhinder is a female* collective consisting of 8 audio and visual artists based in Belgium. They join forces to provide a platform for FINTA* artists (female, intersex, non-binary, trans, agender) in order to address unequal gender relations in the arts and broader event sector. For three years, this collective was born out of a need for a strong and safe diverse network in nightlife and the arts, which they hope to increasingly shape.
