buriedsound | tinytapeloops is a site-specific installation that combines Alexandra Spence’s buried tape loops project and Brigitte Hart’s @tinysound explorations. In the lead up to Soundcamp 2018 Hart and Spence buried tape loop ribbons in 7 different locations at Stave Hill Park and constructed a kind of conceptual soundmap. Over the course of the weekend the artists invite you to visit the burial sites, as indicated on the map insert, listen to the buried sounds online via the website http://cargocollective.com/buriedsound , and consider the intricate connections between sound and notions of place.

buried tape loops is part of an ongoing installation project wherein Spence makes 7-second tape-loop recordings and then buries them in the location at which they were recorded; an attempt at collaboration, asking and prompting a place to affect its own sounding.

Is it possible to stop and listen to the roses? @tinysound is a sound-based Instagram experiment which uses simple poetic narrative to explore the sonic properties of urban and other environments.
