Meet Chelsea Bronson, aka Catalyst. Founder of the Tea Carp, volunteer for Burning Man for over ten years, and seasonal staff member at Burning Man. For the past 4 years she has been the Leave No Trace Compliance Special Ops and for the past 3 has been a MOOP Scribe for Playa Restoration.   Before going to Burning Man, Catalyst created an accredited internship program with Burning Man and the Communications Team. Since then she has burned every year and has volunteered for the Media Documentation Team, Burning Man Community Events Team, and for Burning Man hosted events such as Artist Symposium, Theme Camp Symposium, Global Leadership Conference, and Artumnal Gathering. We talk about her volunteer experience, how it enriches her life. We include how you might get involved in volunteering, how many get started and where it can lead. What is the Tea Carp? The Tea Carp is a mobilized art installation that seeks to provide a safe ground for persons to merry-make, fill their cups, connect, and share human experiences together. We offer themed, pop-up B.Y.O.C. tea services throughout the event. Each tea is made one cup at a time as we hold an appreciation for “slow service”. We savor time, experience, and one another; giving our guests a taste of this with their tea. Once they hand over their cup, visitors are invited to spend quali-tea time with those around them.  A wooden tea house, which only leaves memories behind and is intended to bring beings together around points of interest. Turburam Sandagdorj aka STuro is the creative behind The Silence of TENGRI. The son of an artist, STuro grew up in Mongolia and moved to the US about 20 years ago. Created by a collection of artists intending to make an artist collective that aims to create a more hospitable environment for creators in the Bay Area of Northern California, we find out just what they want out of an art collective.  With an Honoraria Grant from Burning Man, they are bringing out Reclamation of the Stolen Heart to Black Rock City, 2024.  We learn about how they are working together to make that happen and how they are starting their artist’s collective to build more art in the future together and support each other as artists.

A collection of voices recorded at Burning Man 2016 Cabina Exuro was a Burner Podcast-sponsored art project designed by Ramiro Martinez Jr. that went to Black Rock City in 2016. Externally, it appeared as a triambic icosahedron sculpture, adorned with intricate laser-cut patterns and LED lights. Upon closer inspection, participants discovered an entryway that transported them into a 1940s-era radio station set, where they were invited to become radio guests and answer prompts which were recorded and saved to be shared someday in the future. About 100 Burners stumbled upon this unique project and recorded their voices, sharing personal stories, reflections, and experiences. These recordings were never shared publicly—until now. In this very special episode of Burner Podcast, we bring you some of those voices from Burning Man 2016. They received an Honoraria art grant for 2024 to build the Celestial Syzygy Garden, a collection of cacti with swings, benches and even a merry-go-round for us to play with. Volunteer-driven Tonkwa Town needs 100’s of &nbsp;volunteers to fill 1000’s of shifts to keep infrastructure running smoothly from the arid desert.
