Burning Dog was a Punk band from Oxnard, CA. The bands roots stem back to 1988 when Dave Bush (bass) asked Joe Rivas (guitar/vocals) to play in his then band, Dignity after the tragic loss of their singer, John Lowry. That band eventually morphed into Burning Dog in 1991 with Dave and Joe adding Jon Winstead (guitar/vocals) and Morie Galeia (drums). The band played backyard parties and small show in the early 90's because there was not much of a consistent scene until about '94, then things locally started to pick up and the band played larger shows and out of town more often. In late 1994 the band recorded an 18 song demo they called "dont pass out with your shoes on" and released this on cassette. Edge Records, a small label in Oxnard, asked the band to chose 6 songs from that demo and the remixed them and released a 7" called "Psycho Babble Ology". Later that year the band went into the studio again to record "Last Days". The band continued to play shows, but as the members got fuller lives, things started to slow down for them until 2000 when the band got back together to record their final album "Ok...But this time with feeling" which they released on their own. The band was pretty much over from this point forth, but have occasionally played a reunion show to help raise money for their friends that passed away or some other worthy cause. 

Jon went on to form the band Tornado Bait. Morie started an all Samoan Reggae band called Dirty Rice. Dave moved to Fort Collins, CO and joined a band with karl Alvarez (Descendents), Joe joined Ill Repute in the late 90's (among other bands) and produced many records like The Missing 23rd Powers That Be LP and he currently has a band called Out of Trust that Morie also plays bass in.
