Multi Culti are proud to present the debut EP from Sao Paolo's Voodoohop resident, Thomash.

DJ Thomash has set up one of the most influential nights in the bazooming Brazilian scene with his Voodoohop party, a fusion of tropical hedonism and avant-garde trance-inducing European electronic music, a lively mix that no doubt has its genesis in his transplanted German roots (he's from Cologne aka Kompakt-ville). He's shared the stage with guys like Rebolledo, Joakim, Acid Pauli and more, and now finally looks to colonize the world with his first release.

Interestingly, Thomash has a degree in artificial intelligence, so while it might just be our imagination, it does seem that the rhythms, full of oddly tuned percussion and colorful synth stabs seem imbued with a distinct internal logic, playful forms that bounce off each other in their own reality, according to their own laws. This narrative of the ethnoid, German-Brazilian AI ties in nicely with the title: Candomble is the name of an Afro-Brazilian religion, meaning literally 'dance in honour of the gods.' Fortunately for us, Thomash seems to be honouring some scarcely acknowledged, far-out deities... spritely DMT-elves. Ectoplasma further plays into this reading, both in title and in vibe, floating unconcerned with material dancefloor goals into a space of peaceful imagination and spirit. Finally, Calango Fumando Palha is a soft, dreamy morning peyote-fire anthem… a healing latin lullaby to soothe troubles and set positive vibes free.

Called in to take us deeper into the trip are Multi Culti's go-to sooth-sayers DREEMS, who lead us forwards in full-chakra-alignment with the originals, bringing bigger bass into the heart of the jungle, tripping on acid, leaving us loose-limbed, wide-eyed, and open-minded in bliss as the final chords tuck us in and kiss us goodnight. Some times the music just magically comes out, and that is the case here with "Syria" by new Sol*Selectas artist Unders from Amsterdam. After several successful tunes above the 120 BPM mark on labels like Sincopat and Groove On, "Syria" was Unders' first attempt at slower grooves, and an accidental experiment that just "fell into place, and was automatic magic". Syria's current political unrest is all over the news and social media, and the story being painted is difficult to watch. Driven to create a song which goes against all the negative publicity, Unders says "between all the negativity, the more i looked into the situation, the country, its people and its culture, the more this track reminded me of so much beauty the media doesn’t portray." The song itself a slow minimal trip with chopped up guitar licks, a gorgeous flute sample that takes the listener to far off desert lands, and features the vocals of Veerle.  Satori is yet another up and coming producer from the Netherlands, gaining instant recognition sharing the stage and studio with Acid Pauli, and producing incredible tunes utilizing live instruments played by himself, and tastefully incorporating these with electronic elements. His remix preserves the original message of "Syria" lowering the BPM to an even more hypnotic 104 BPMs. Satori adds middle eastern strings and chords, swapping out the original vocal for a more Saharan inspired call, and even plays delicately with some acid sounds furthering the listeners journey.  
Both songs are meant to invoke peaceful images of Syria, and conjure up positive intention on the dance floor. Sol*Selectas is very excited to present the debut song "Syria" from Unders, and the amazing remix by Satori,  two artists from the Netherlands you would do well to keep your eyes and ears open to in 2016.

After starting the journey of Heimlich Musik by contributing the very first EP to be released on the label, Basel-based producer Avem is returning to the Viennese imprint now with a unique collection of impressions deriving from his latest inspirations and collaborations – all packed into one colorful EP. The title “Halcyon” refers to a Greek myth about Kingfishers leaving the listener touched with some kind of emotional ambivalence. 

Three of four tracks are featuring guests and it’s all family business with Arutani and Dandara on the one hand while also establishing new connections with Zazou on the other hand. The title track “Halcyon” featuring Arutani is based on a unique melancholic mood, and “Untitled” featuring Zazou is pushing this melancholic vibe even further all the way to the maximum, using a powerful melody that immediately evokes goosebumps when dropped just at the right moment. “Plastikmenschen” with Dandara & Arutani unites the best that Basel has to offer when it comes to deep club tracks using complex drum patterns, creating an intense drive that will push you through any night. “Oh Wieso” serves as a guide through confusing festival experiences, seeming to lose track of time but always coming back to a straight direction into trippy times.

Avem’s “Halcyon” EP is an ode to friendship, and all the inspirations and impressions that these special connections create – a very well fit into the whole concept of Heimlich Musik.
