You are going to find out how card games can be applied to business and you are going to learn very valuable lessons from a world competitive card gamer. He has been playing cards for 22 years and he is travelling around the world to compete in many tournaments.

In magic you cannot be sure that what worked last week is going to work next week. Also, what worked this week won’t necessarily work last week. You have to plan a few steps ahead or someone else will do a better job than you. 

In Magic The Gathering you are meeting players from all around the world all the time. You can do all the testing yourself or you can have access to smart people who can tell you what to do, share their results with you and save you a lot of time. 

There is a misconception that in magic we want to be very secretive and we do not want someone to steal our ideas. The reality is that we share our ideas a lot, because if more people can see what I am doing, more people can see the mistakes that we make and we will be able to avoid them. You are in much bigger danger of having the wrong information than other people having your information. 

I am trying to leverage as much people as possible. I have a bunch of groups and have different people working on different projects. It is like you are in a mastermind where you can take advantage of other people’s knowledge that can help you improve yourself faster. We share our vision for what has to be done. That reduces our workload. We achieve better success in the same amount of time. 

You can do everything yourself in business, but when things get complex, why not use other people’s advice. You have mentors and coaches who can save you a lot of time and effort by showing you things that work and that have already been tested. You also have employees and assistants who can take the workload off from you. They will save you time implementing things. 

There is a misconception that the idea is everything. Some people spend so much time figuring out the best idea, protecting their ideas and getting too attached to it. In fact, the best players are executing what other people are doing. They recognize someone else’s idea and execute it in the best possible way. They see what has potential and what might work. 

When I launch my coaching program I used a proven business model and it saved me a lot of time. I did not have to reinvent the wheel.

The automation of the business is extremely important. For my social media channel I have robots posting things regularly. You have to create systems that you can repeat and behaviors that you can automate. It is not possible to play in a tournament 12 hours a day for several days. You do not have enough fuel in your brain to make all the decisions. 

Automating as many things as possible and dedicating your thinking to the big picture is a tremendous time saver. You have to constantly looking for things that you can automate. That will help you focus on more important stuff and be more productive. 

I learned from business a lot of the things and strategies that I use in magic, it is hard to tell which of my ideas came from business. I can tell for sure that I have achieved a balance between business and Magic The Gathering. They both helped me be more successful in life.  A lot of gamers are very good in business in terms of focus and obsession.

Making a commitment is a big deal. If you make a commitment to doing something, something magical happens where you know that what you are doing on a daily basis is going to pay off. However, It’s not something you should jump into if you aren’t ready. You should feel confident and believe in your skills that you are capable of doing it.

It is very hard to create 2 videos a day for several years, but I made a commitment to do it. The secret is that you have to commit to it 100%. You don’t have any other option. That is a life or death situation and you will find a way to make that happen no matter what it costs.

Sometimes, you might not be in a good mood or you don’t have any idea what you are going to talk about, but you do it anyway, because you must do it.

Even though you know that you cannot come up with the best ideas and the best content, you know that this is going to help the business grow. That is what motivates you to push yourself and do it. That is the type of commitment that is necessary to build any business. 

People think that if they send a few proposals and do several sales calls, they will be done for the day and they have done enormous amount of work.

Enough work means that you have to do all the work that is in your capabilities on a daily basis. 

How to do 2 videos a day.

I choose a topic, turn on my camera or my phone and I start recording. I usually talk about what my students have asked me on my calls. That is already proven to work. I see that people follow my YouTube channel and like my content on social media. I have built a brand based on the type of videos I am creating right now.

Usually, the time when I don’t want to work, but I do it anyways, I experience the most growth. I am doing the most amount of work when I don’t feel like working. As a result, the best month this year, my business did $100K in revenue with 50% profit margin.
