It gives me great pleasure to welcome Andrew Phillips to this week’s Great Australian stories in the Making. 

Andrew was destined to have a very promising career in the world of AFL in the 80’s. Sadly a degenerative back condition could not stand the rigors of AFL football and his career was cut short.  

The former Carlton footballer turned to the world of business and with the same grit, determination and prowess learnt on the field then applied in the board room.  

He has spent a lifetime working to create educational opportunities for children from disadvantaged backgrounds, and is now running The Phillips Brothers Foundation.

Stefan chats with Judd Murray, founder of Cognercise Foundation

During one of the strangest and toughest years of our lives, we invited Frank Ponissi, the General Manager – Football at Melbourne Storm, 

Frank was at the club during the years when they were heavily punished for salary cap breaches - and the fallout that occurred - and how they had to work through those tough periods, yet were able to rebuild and become the powerhouse club they were before. 

In fact, they became even better despite all the challenges. 

Frank shares much of the wisdom he gained through that experience. The lessons he emphasises always revolve around the importance of high standards, accountability and plain old hard work.
